CONTROL Ultimate Edition

Control es un juego que vale totalmente la pena, ideal para comprar con los ojos cerrados, especialmente si lo atrapas en las rebajas de Steam. Tras haberlo completado hace años en Epic y rejugarlo ahora con su edición completa, la experiencia me volvió a dejar extasiado. Más allá de su mundo raro y estrambótico, el juego destaca por un excelente doblaje (tanto en español como en inglés) y una progresión impecable. A diferencia de otros títulos donde al final te vuelves un Dios invencible, aquí las mejoras son significativas pero equilibradas; aunque vayas bien armado, los enemigos te pueden liquidar fácilmente por su cantidad y el daño que hacen, manteniendo el reto hasta el final. Técnicamente es muy sólido y casi no tiene bugs, salvo algún detalle visual aislado donde el cuerpo del personaje desaparece por un instante. Por su parte, los DLC son buenísimos: expanden el universo de forma fenomenal y profundizan en la historia y las interacciones de los personajes. Además, si te gusta cazar logros, el 100% es bastante accesible; aunque los DLC piden coleccionables y hay secretos escondidos, si juegas con un mínimo de curiosidad y exploras tras los combates, casi no necesitarás guías. Es una compra redonda que te dejará con ganas de ver cómo continúa este caos en Control 2.

Steam lists my copy as “CONTROL Ultimate Edition,” but it is actually the Standard Edition. Due to a confusing Steam product configuration, the base game inherited the Ultimate Edition name without including the Foundation and AWE expansions. Affected copies should have either been properly upgraded or clearly separated when the editions were reorganized, with a straightforward upgrade path provided. Unfortunately, this issue remains unresolved.

When I first saw this is thought that it was just some BS game that forced a female protagonist, but it was on sale and i gave it a shot. I WAS DEAD WRONG!! Absolutely fantastic game, from the storytelling, to gameplay, super powers, easter eggs, enemies, everything. If you liked the Bioshock series, this will be right up your alley. I also really appreciated the callbacks to other games (such as a little easter egg to Alan Wake, my favorite storytelling game). The fact that the protagonist is a female doesnt feel forced at all and I actually very much so like the character, definitely NOT a case of "lets write a man but just make it a woman." Would HIGHLY reccommend.

First played on PS4 and liked it so much I bought here. When I realized the DLC tied into a connected universe (Remedyverse), I dove into Alan Wake and Alan Wake's American Nightmare. I'm impressed with the epic narrative scale of what they're building here. I'm going to dive into more of the connected universe games next before Control 2 drops this Fall! :D
