Reviews
One of the best detective games I've ever played. Brilliantly funny acting and quirky characters and a very engaging plot.
Very engaging for a FMV game, doesn't outstay its welcome. Not complex or deep, but quite unique in today's landscape.

Fantastic. Offbeat, wacky, and intriguing.
banger detective game
Contradiction is a Full Motion Video Detective game set in small village in Britain. You play as a detective looking into the death of a University student, who was found drowned in a lake. You are sent there to determine if it was a suicide or murderer. This Review will be spoiler free (as I can’t lie, it’s been a while and I can’t remember all the details). I came to this game after playing “At Dead of Night”, and was curious how good the story would be in this game. I was pleasantly surprised by the game. I liked the Live action cut scenes in the game, and being able to interview was quite fun. I think a lot of the clues in the game are obvious, and the rest can be done through trial and error by asking everyone a question about every item you have collected. I tried playing through the whole game without having to google answers, but I won’t lie, some clues are very difficult to logically connect two and two together. I think in my 6 hour playthrough of the game, I had to google the solution to a certain problem 3-4 times, which isn’t to bad. I had to do the same thing with “At Dead of Night” so it’s not unique to this game. I will say, I did notice the detective did kinda break the law once or twice in the game. The Detective in the game is an official police detective, not a Private Investigator, so they should be trying to not break the law doing they’re investigation. Minor spoiler here: At one point, you find a car key on the ground, and are meant to open a car somewhere else on the map, and find an envelope which is used to ask an important question to someone in the game. The character even calls this out in the game, saying “Where did you say you found the envelope inspector?” so the game even acknowledges you acquired that evidence unlawfully. By no means, does this make the game bad, It was just something I noticed while playing. The detective also borrows a screwdriver from someone front garden to find a piece of evidence, which… they didn’t ask permission to use. They just found it and pocketed. I appreciate these things were done for the sake of adding puzzles to the game. Players needs to pick up object A to unlock Evidence B, it was just something I noticed while playing the game. End of Minor Spolier. Overall, I really enjoyed the game, look forward to a potenital part 2?
Fun, unique FMV + Point & Click style murder mystery game. Really enjoyed the story & quirks of it, and the characters felt well developed
