Contradiction: Spot The Liar

A very short game, but I had a surprisingly good time with it. The actors are genuinely damn good, and the whole live-action setting works really well. I especially liked the atmosphere and the way the story is presented. The actual detective work is usually pretty straightforward, and most of the connections are not exactly rocket science. Still, it was fun putting the pieces together and figuring out who was lying. My biggest problem is that by the end, I had the feeling I had just played a prologue rather than a complete game. It definitely left me wanting more. So yeah, it's short, but I enjoyed it. If there's another part coming with more of this setting and these characters, I'm definitely playing it.

Replayed this game after 8 or 9 years, a modern version of an Agatha Christie cozy. Some really excellent acting combined with low budget production values almost gave me vertigo at times. Some of the gameplay was tedious and a couple of the hints were downright wrong (e.g., Call the chief but the chief doesn't answer). Still, it was engaging enough to keep me through to the end, even caring enough to re-watch earlier cutscenes and interview sessions. 3.5/5
