Loved the original back in the day, and am loving this one. Only 3 missions in but having so much fun I wanted to speak up while it was still on sale. Maps (so far) have been large and open ended with tons of options/ solutions. Controls (keyboard and mouse) are customizable and well done, and the quick save/ load make it easy to scum (if you're into that). An early but definite thumbs up! (and I'll update if everything goes to $#!+ on mission 4) ;)
I've been playing games for over 20 years and this is the first time I've ever posted a review! I could love this game however I can't recommend that anyone buys it as it's so unstable. I'm only just beginning level 3 and so far the game has crashed 50+ times (I've never had another game crash on me, ever). I decided to make one final attempt today but each one of my last three saves just results in a crash back to the desktop. I contacted Kalypso some time ago and sent them the required info but so far no one has got back to me. Unbelievably frustrating!

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I have played all the commandos that came before! A true veteran! I was 17 when the first came out... now at 44 I still enjoy the old games, but also this new one is amazing. Looks really good, you can choose your own solutions and pathways to the military puzzles.. I am having a great time!. Large levels! no repetitive scenery, desert /snow/jungle /day/night and so on. Also inside the buildings works well. Really polished game.
Good game if it wasn't for the performance. It is the worst performing game I've played in a very long time. On lowest graphics I occassionally get to experience power point presentation. Play Desperados 3 instead
Same classic formula with modern graphics, but honestly… it still can’t touch Commandos 2. That one was easily the best in the series! Plus it’s got fewer mechanics, and it doesn’t really let you move around the map however you want.. Even so, it’s a full-on trip back to my childhood!
What a ride! After months of slowly sneaking my way through every mission, I finally crossed off my last mark—and what a satisfying finale it was. Commandos: Origins is a worthy evolution of a long-time favorite PC series and a reminder of why I fell in love with it decades ago. Sure, there were a few comical bugs, the occasional frustrating inconsistency, and some character-specific tools that felt a bit underused—but none of that dampened the thrill of the experience. It absolutely scratches that old-school, Nazi-punishing itch in all the right ways. Here’s hoping this isn’t the last we see of this ragtag squad—and that a few familiar, long-missing faces make their return in the not-too-distant future.
For whom, who actually played all commandos games from the first one to the Origins, absolutely recommended. Well done guys. The game structure is practically the same, with the same, or enhanced abilities for commandos. I really enjoyed not only the game, but also the level of details including the small talks between German soldiers. It is hard to find such a great game which actually does remind us those good old days with perfectly designed releases. There are some lag experiences when it comes to Action (Shift in PC) button and sometimes the Marine knife throw does not work; or sometimes the action/weapon symbols are not visible, though they work when you click. The music was not what I expected and I think it could be released with a better music or the same famous tone without extra costs. One option that was missing unlike last Commandos game however, was the armed guard mode for each commando, where you could guard one commando in a special position with a specific weapon, so that he would shoot any enemy who entered that guard zone. It was very handy. The regional alarm was a bit unrealistic. Meaning, sometimes the enemy did not have the chance to say it out loud and was killed, but the alarm was somehow enabled. Not a big issue though. For the most part, I could not/did not want to use fire arms to avoid alarms and it somehow reduced the fun, especially with the driver. I hope the next one does not come after another 20 or so years.
