Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

It's a scam, don't buy it. After you've played around 3 hours, the game will crash on turn 12 (Central Powers) or turn 13 (Allies) every play through. No way to recover the saved files. You have to start over. You can't get a refund from Steam after 2 hours of play time. So you own a broken game with no support that will not run after a couple of hours of play. Stay away! Review Update: The Slitherine website had a kind and sympathetic soul who directed me through modifying the game.lua file so that the game would run. It is still frustrating that I had so many problems and the forum comments were from 2012, but ultimately - the game is fun to play. The Slitherine thread is: https://www.slitherine.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1047808#p1047808
The mechanics of this game are reasonable, but the AI was too incompetent to offer a meaningful challenge -- on my first play as the Allies, the Germans completely ignored the holes I poked in their lines, allowing me to push forward to Hamburg and Dresden in less than a year. It's not just that they were out of troops, either -- they kept sending reinforcements to the Serbian front despite the fact that their homeland was being invaded and the Serbs had no meaningful offensive capability. Meanwhile, the Turks had no idea how to defend their coastline against amphibious landings -- they actually moved their garrisons *out* of their cities (presumably in an effort to 'chase' or 'shadow' my troops), allowing me to walk right in. The Austrians formed a reasonable line against the Russians in Poland, but did nothing at all to help protect the Germans against a Russian breakthrough in Prussia. Adding insult to injury, the game now repeatedly crashes when I end the turn. I didn't enjoy the game enough to bother troubleshooting this, and it didn't cost enough money for me to bother with a refund, so I will just urge others to use caution in purchasing this product.

One of the best WW1 turns and not , game every mad in history till now. This is not historical game, but it put yourself in very hard trench and massive infantry, arty, planes and at end tanks; fight that you ever played. You sould choose 4 scenarios on multyplayer and single. and if you play vs pro player on multy you could feel at all the concept of total war. Clearly, if you play vs pc , it make a lot of strategy error, but vs human you could fall in mabush or trap, or could do or go up under heavy hard offensive. Spam of some tipye of units that are really effective (more then history period), could give you some advantage or can break enemies; but remember vs good player if he understand that you do, defensive land, air and sea strategy in 14-18 win. Cunning, surprise or planning it's keys of victrory. Good game people.
As a hex game it covers all the basics fun game play easy controls
It could be a very good game if it worked. Unfortunately, I can only play 12 rounds at a time, after which the game hangs and I end up on the desktop. The support tried to help, but unfortunately only with tips like: try it as administrator or install the game in another folder. So it doesn't work.
Commander: The Great War is a fun and relatively simple to learn World War 1 war game. While not as good at teaching the history through play as Strategic Command: WW1, it sufficiently covers the broad strokes of the war.
Giocabile, un po' troppo legato ad alcune dinamiche ma è giusto per chi vuole giocare una bella simulazione della Grande Guerra.
