Improvised Combat. Use whatever you can get your hands on to defeat your enemies. From plastic flamingos to mop handles, even a child's toy hammer can be deadly in the right hands.

Picked this up during the Summer Sale for €1.69 and honestly didn't expect much. A few runs later I was completely hooked. The combat feels great, putting builds together is a lot of fun, and every good run made me want to start another one. Now I finally understand why so many people recommended it.

Karate Survivor não é o suprassumo dos videogames, mas entra perfeitamente naquela definição mais raiz do que é videogame: se divertir. É um jogo simples, direto ao ponto, com 5 fases e 3 dificuldades em cada uma, e sinceramente me diverti fazendo todas sem sentir cansaço ou aquela repetição que costuma aparecer rápido nesse tipo de jogo. A arte é bonita, a trilha sonora é simples mas combina bem com a proposta, e o que mais gostei foi a gameplay, que consegue trazer uma pegada diferente dos bullet heavens tradicionais. Ele não tenta reinventar o gênero nem parecer maior do que realmente é, só pega uma ideia divertida e executa de forma competente. Pra mim, é um jogo muito honesto, daqueles que você abre sem grandes expectativas e fecha satisfeito porque passou algumas horas se divertindo de verdade.

Очередной выкидыш жанра роуглайк-сурвайвал, который пытается выехать на ностальгии по боевикам 80-х, но ломается о собственную кривую математику. Если вы думали, что тут будет глубина и тактика - забудьте. Тут будет духота, гринд и рандом. Не рекомендую, лучше старый добрый битемап перепройти.

I've dabbled with Vampire Survivors (picked up as freebie over at Epic) and tried some of the variants over time, but Karate Survivor is the most enjoyable of the lot. It's the same premise, but executed with an 80s martial arts palette. Whilst you will perish often early on, when perks are upgraded and skills collected you turn into a Jackie Chan inspired ballet of carnage. And the best part is the illusion you are wreaking havoc in real-time, but in reality it's the build and the buffs collected along the way. You just move, but watch your karate-ka cycle through the card moves, execute buffs, attack with numerous objects and weapons and slay foe by the dozen. The game doesn't outstay it's welcome (though it was a grind to collect the last couple of achievements after completing all arenas and levels) and by the time you've hit the 20 hour mark you've gone from a white belt pie-chucker to a gloriously choreographed trail of destruction. And it's the price of a coffee. Play it.
