Experienced on the Meta Quest 2
You can view my review & gameplay here: https://youtu.be/wTFqT2WdRWY I really enjoyed this game / app. It's basically a coloring book come to life in VR. You get to color in the monochrome world using a couple of different artistic tools. You'll be using the paint fill tool mostly for easy coloring, but you can also use the paint brush. You can also use a paint ball if you want to get a little crazy or use stickers. Unfortunately, the tools are rather limited. The paint brush sizes are limited to small, medium, & large and you just need more sizes to match what you're trying to do. While you can also choose almost any color you'd want, getting a good yellow or orange color can be quite difficult given the size of the color selector. There's also no color patterns on the paint fill like tri-colors, swirls, or shapes. There's also only six scenes to color-in. While you can spend hours on a scene, it is still very limited content. I do hope the developer adds Steam workshop support which would give this game a lot of long-term value. Game is running on the Unity Engine. On my RTX 3080, I was getting a steady 90 fps. I did not experience any serious issues or bugs (although sometimes it's easy to select and color the wrong thing). You can teleport, snap turn, or fly in the direction you are facing. You can play comfortably seated. The only slight issue is that sometimes you need to paint brush something low to the ground and it's hard to reach since you can't fly below the ground. Overall, I had fun playing this game / app. It's very chill & relaxing. It is perfect for families, especially with young children who I would imagine would love to color in VR. I do hope more scenes are added. Also, while I did enjoy the music, it would be great to be able to listen to our own music or to have YT music support. Colorway Antics is like being inside a coloring book page, its just magical. Dive inside a coloring book adventure, where coloring outside of the lines is encourage and your imagination is the only limit. I did not expect this amazing VR experience with this game. I really enjoyed coloring each scene, walking around a world and shaping it to my imagination. I found the game played best with room scaling. You don't a large space as well, just enough room to walk around something the size of a table chair. This way you can move around what ever object you are paint and feel very immersed into the world. The paint controls felt great. They are not Vermillion great, but are easy to master and do what you want. One thing I would like to see though is a finer brush. Oh, that would be sweet. The world you are in is very relaxing and you can stay there for ever. With that said I would love more worlds to dive into, even if it came in the form of paid DLC. If you love to create and design, just have fun and want to relax, you need to check this gem out. Watch my preview here, https://youtu.be/aroQKBvANTc
Nailed it! Messy, creative and lotz of fun. Mini-games. /jawsome! More scenes plx.
Such a good a find! Need more games like this. Simple to play, endless fun.
It's a very satisfying game to play, offering an easy mode for people that want less challenge, while also offering things for people who do. The paint balloons are very satisfying. Some of the game mechanics take a second to get used to but they don't make you feel sick, the flying is much easier than some other experiences I've had. All in all very fun, allows you to get creative and it's a really nice game to look at.
Wow, that was fun and super easy to play. A 3D colouring game with multiple environments to paint and play in - from underground to outer space. Love the paint tools (especially the paint balls) and the ability to teleport and fly. Lots of creativity. Excellent mini games too. Love everything about it.
Love it!! Made a bit of a mess with the paint balls but great fun.
the best thing about this game is you can use your creativity and art skills to create a world where it is fun, i would get this game if you like art and colours, the first time i played it i really enjoyed it and cant wait to play it again and the mechanics are very easy hope you enjoy the game the same as i did.
*Review conducted during playtesting session Sep 14th 2023* More creative experience than whatever metaverse world zuckerberg would like. Although the map selection is a bit limited, nothing stops the potential for workshop maps, plus promise of content updates is nice to have. One important note, as of writing the review, there isn't any accessibility or controller sensitivity settings within the game itself. So, as long as you're comfortable with the native controller and movement sensitivity of your VR gear, or would prefer to come in and out from the native settings menu to change those options manually, this could be a bit of a barrier to those wanting to customise controls between other VR games. There are a variety of creative-based VR games out there, and this is one of those games of all time. However, its charming aesthetics and pleasant music and sensory feedbacks allow for a more pleasant experience overall, compared to other scarring environments...
