Morels: Homestead

I accepted the free Steam key because I was curious as to how the PCVR version was different. I can honestly say that the visuals look much better on PCVR with higher resolution & crisper, clearer visuals. However, it's not like the game has new model assets or higher textures, this very much looks like a Quest port with a low polygon art style that may not appeal to some. The gameplay here is also something that will not appeal to some. It's a very casual style gameplay loop. You basically go around doing quests to get coins so you can buy new maps, decorations, or seeds. It's very much a collect-a-thon. You collect lots of stuff to sell at the market. At the market, you'll buy the seeds or decorations you want (or maps). If you have played Disney Dreamland, then this game is like that, but with less polish, obviously. The decorations are all pre-built. You're not building your own home, but there are many decoration pieces & styles so that you can make the home your own. There is a lot to do and it's all causal style. So if you're looking for a chill game, with lots of maps, lots to explore, many things to unlock / buy, then this may be the game for you. Keep in mind, a lot of the stuff to do is just fetch type quests (even the photography ones!). Game is running on the Unreal Engine. On my RTX 3080, I was getting mostly 90 fps on epic graphical settings. I did not try increasing super-sampling because I noticed some frame rate drops here and there. You do have full locomotion available, along with teleportation. You can choose between smooth or snap turning as well. You can pick walk speed & turn speed. I did experience a crash during my almost one hour of gameplay on PCVR (I played about 5-7 hours on Meta Quest version though). Besides the visuals and sounds not being particularly good, the other thing I didn't like was the that interactions were mostly point & click. You have these lasers automatically pointing out of your hands, which I did not like (there is a setting to turn it from always being on, to just automatically being on, but it's still on too much). [b]Rate 6/10. My score may be too generous, but I can see some people really enjoying this game, even if I myself didn't particularly enjoy the collect-a-thon because I've played better versions. Hut ab und danke an den Entwickler das ich es vorstellen durfte, wer viel Zeit hat, wird hier sehr glücklich, das ist der Hammer, weil viel Sachen man hier bauen kann habe ich noch nie in ein VR Game gesehen, Grafik ist sehr bunt, gefällt mir, das Krasse ist ihr könnt fast alle Tiere aufheben und euch angucken und die Steuerung ist echt top, muss aber im Game unter Optionen angepasst werden. Fehler konnte ich bis jetzt nicht finden, es gibt echt so viel zu tun und echt viele Maps. This is a gem of a game that sim lovers have to try. Morels Homestead VR is a relaxing farming and building game. You pick from one of ten different themed maps to build you home own. Then you can play in Creator mode, where you have all the cash you will need to build your dream homestead, or play in Normal mode where you start in a tent and need to earn money to build your homestead. You will have lots to do in the game besides building. You can do quests for income, farm and sell crops, unlock new areas to build on, photograph animals and insects, hidden treasures to find, and much more. The game reminds me a lot of playing Animal Crossing without any villagers. Play this game Do you like to be as creative as possible? PLAY THIS GAME Do you want to grow plants, sell them and buy more stuff for your builds? PLAY THIS GAME!!! I got the game for free from the devs to play on stream. I spent 3 hours playing it and the possibilities are flowing through my mind. I was excited, happy and entranced with chasing squirrels, birds, and an opossum. There might have been something a little scary in the corn maze, but I need to go back with a flashlight to be sure of what I saw. Loving the camera, the items, and everything is very intuituve to play
