Close Combat 5: Invasion: Normandy - Utah Beach to Cherbourg

Reviewing games I played a long time ago: I remember I had a free copy from a magazine and played this A LOT. Not as much as 4, which is my favourite, but close. I replayed one map for an hour just now and it was a pleasure, as good as I remember. Plays really well on the Deck (and any Linux of course), but be sure to: Go to your install folder, and open the CC5.ini file. Change this: PlayVideos=1 to PlayVideos=0 Use launch option in game properties: WINEDLLOVERRIDES="ddraw.dll=n,b" %command%

Nice game from way back when. I saw that they have just patched it to fix some issues, so gave it a try. Works flawlessly for me so far, no issues. Can't beat it at the sale price!

I recently purchased Close Combat 1-5. I wanted to relive some childhood memories. Regrettably, these games were unplayable. Not due to aged affects, poor performance, or graphics. Literally just unplayable. I tried to load up 3 and it instantly crashed. 4 lasted 7 minutes before it was done. 5 was a mixture of both. So sad, that I cannot replay these. If they fixed it I would love to revisit. Good luck out there, everyone.

good as always, by far my favorite game series. for 6 bucks.. buy it.even if top down throws u off give it a chance

Best Close Combat game but this version simply go crash in middle of battle. ;( I think its engine problem with newest OS becouse so called "remake" have same problems. But still its best of CC series, so have my money and thumb up and maybe some day just repair it for modern OS.
