Close Combat 2: A Bridge Too Far

Possibly the best Close Combat but also one of the hardest. It works flawlessly on Windows 10. There is literally nothing else to add.

Finally, 20 years later I have completed this game. Suck it dad.

This was one of my favorite Close Combat games back in the day. It runs fine on windows 11. It runs at max resolution 1280 x 720. If you adjust the desktop res to 1920 x 1080 it plays in a good sized window. On my 55" screen it is a 80 x 44cm window and looks excellent. I just completed the campaign in 20hrs and didn't experience one play-ability issue. You can easily backup the campaign save file so that you can replay a battle if that's how you want to play. Thoroughly enjoyable campaign just like it was back in the day.

Reviewing games I played a long time ago: Even though I spent more hours in CC4 and 5, this one has a special place in my heart as it was the first game in the series I ever played, a demo that came in a magazine. And it plays really well on the Deck (and any Linux of course), but be sure to: Go to your install folder, and open the CC2.ini file. Great Historic game , I started playing this game in 1997 online , great game even today , fun , challenging , need players to hook up with for games so please buy it , its cheap enough, and easy to play , 1 vrs 1 players, or against the computer , i have re-created maps that we played years ago online Microsoft Gaming zone days.

Fun throwback game

Game is a lot more fun than the screenshots suggest. As good as the newer games in the series.

I was so excited when I found this jewel. I played it decades ago, back then it was well before it's time. Incorporating a points system to purchase troops before battle, moral system, and enemy troops hidden until one of your units can see them. Gold. By today's standards the graphics are poor and the interface is not modern but it is exactly as it was. If you enjoyed CC2 then it is well worth the purchase. If you are new to the game then there are probably more modernised versions that you would prefer (despite the fact that so far thy all lack the variety of the options available in this gift of a game). NOTE: It is historically actuate in that the Germans have the best gear and tanks, so higher points games benefit the Axis side.

Enjoyable tactical World War 2 game. The difficulty is just right.
