Спасибо чатик олдкаста за рекомендацию по игре Спасибо Дреду, Алику и Максу за то что поиграли и постримили эту игру
Auto bought this because Mages and Monsters (M&M) was fun and a great value for what it was, but if you're expecting a deeper Mages and Monsters, I'd pass. The review is positive only because I feel like this was a good faith effort to try and do something new -- it was just a miss for me. Still looking forward to what he does in the future. If you're into very passive games, then by all means, pick this up. To be clear, it's my own fault for thinking this would be more of that or an evolution of M&M -- it's not that the game is bad, it's just a completely different and *much* more passive game from M&M. The only player involvement is comparing the two armies and guessing which one will win, which while not as easy as it sounds, is nowhere near as rewarding as the core gameplay loop of M&M. It feels like this was the first game and M&M was the evolution of this besides the new assets and units introduced in this game. While playing this, I just found myself wishing that I could set my army up with all these cool new units and have the same impact with the decisions/strategies that I had with M&M. Not refunding because the dev seems like a good guy and he honestly earned it with M&M. I do look forward to the next evolution of Mages and Monsters though! Man, I said M&M a lot in this review. The game is fun, go get it.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

This game is actually great, as you learn it more you start to understand the complexity behind predicting battles correctly and it becomes more and more enjoyable. This is much more of a thinking mans game than just a spectating cool battles. It is very fun to have a deep think and calculate before each battle; How much damage and health does each side have? How will the battle play out, which units will engage each other first? What are the health breakpoints, does the unit kill others in one hit, 2 hits etc? Do the ranged units have enough tanks and meat shields to prevent them getting swarmed? Is there enough damage to kill units which heal? Are there lots of little units or few larger ones? Each round has a different composition which creates a very enjoyable puzzle to solve each time, and once you've chosen, you watch the battle play out. You have limited lives to complete 20 battles so the battles can get very tense when down to 1 life. These choices you make are definitely not at the mercy of RNG, my record is 18 correct in a row & the final achievement of the game is impossible difficulty which is 1 life which needs 20 correct guesses in a row. The art and animations are a nice style, with lots of unit variety and nice simple animations. There are different battle sizes from Small which just a few units, to Gigantic which has many hundreds of units on each side. I will note that on gigantic, some of the cheaper units stop being offered, so if you want maximum unit variety, go for one of the smaller or middle sizes. There is a toggle to speed up the battle which helps a lot on gigantic mode. Overall a real gem.
I love the game, it's perfect to play while while cooking, eating or watching youtube. I just wish the game had more incentives to keep you playing like keeping track of what mode you beat on what difficulty. Currently if you beat it on the hardest difficulty in one mode your highscore will always stay the same for all modes, 20/20 rounds, you can't do better than that. An endless mode that you unlock after beating the game on all difficulties would also be cool. Or a chaos mode where a battle is chosen from a random mode each time.
Simple and effective. Sometimes I think battles shouldn't turn out like they should but that's just a bit of randomness eh? For $4 this scratches an itch I didn't know I had!
it's a fun simple little combat watching game. lots of fun with younger players.
Made me excited for Mage and Monsters 2. Well made little time waster - well worth the price tag. This developer is on to something for sure!
It's Mage and Monsters but you don't actually get to play. You just watch instead. An utter downgrade. This should be a bonus mode in Mage and monsters not a standalone title.
enjoyable little game
