Cities: Skylines is a modern take on the classic city simulation. The game introduces new game play elements to realize the thrill and hardships of creating and maintaining a real city whilst expanding on some well-established tropes of the city building experience.
Modeled estimate, not a reported figure. How we estimate →
Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
No United States chart position — it charts only in the markets below.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 24.71/day in the week to Aug 14 → 38.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Poland over the last 30 days: the 21 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 12 places towards #1, and the 2,501 moves with no price cut behind them went 1 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

It's a good game. CSLII UI and gameplay just feels smoother. CSLI has mods and easier on PCs. CSLII has a better vanilla experience, imo. I think you could or can or do get an on par experience with CSLI + mods vs CSLII. But no matter what, CSLII looks more beautiful and clean to me. I love CSLI and I wish I could go back to it. CSLII just spoiled me. :\ Still, this and CSLII are the best city-builder simulation games out there at the moment for me. Maybe a close-ish second would be transport fever 2, but that's much more deeply focused on supply chain and logistics, rather than building cities. Still... Thanks Colossal for bringing back my love for city-builders. It reminds me of when I was growing up playing SimCity 2000. I'm engaged and I had a lot of fun with CSLI. I'm now enjoying CSLII with some heavy caveats (very taxing on PCs when population grows large). Still, I think CSLI is definitely worth a try. The traffic systems alone makes it pretty peak for me. CSLII's is just an improvement on this. I think Hooded Horse will come out with their own city-builder (they're starting with Junxions), but this is just a cursory guess. There are other traffic focused games (highway & co) that I'm hoping will lead to similar, robust simulation experiences like CSL and Transport Fever 2. I'm rambling, but I think this level/caliber of simulation city-builders or traffic-focused simulations are really lacking.
