About

Raise a city from the ground up and transform it into the thriving metropolis only you can imagine. You've never experienced building on this scale. With deep simulation and a living economy, Cities: Skylines II delivers world-building without limits.
Lay the foundations for your city to begin. Create the roads, infrastructure, and systems that make life possible day to day. It's up to you – all of it.
How your city grows is your call too, but plan strategically. Every decision has an impact. Can you energize local industries while also using trade to boost the economy? What will make residential districts flourish without killing the buzz downtown? How will you meet the needs and desires of citizens while balancing the city's budget?
Your city never rests. Like any living, breathing world, it changes over time. Some changes will be slow and gradual, while others will be sudden and unexpected. So while seasons turn and night follows day, be ready to act when life doesn't go to plan.
The most realistic and detailed city builder ever, Cities: Skylines II pushes your creativity and problem-solving to another level. With beautifully rendered high-resolution graphics, it also inspires you to build the city of your dreams.

AI and intricate economics mean your choices ripple through the fabric of the city. Remember that as you strategize, problem-solve, and react to change, challenges, and opportunities.

Cities: Skylines II lets you create without compromise. Now you can build sky-high and sprawl across the map like never before. Why not? Your city is you.

Your decisions shape each citizen's life path, a chain of events that defines who they are. From love and loss to wealth and wellbeing, follow their life's ups and downs.

Pick a map to set the climate of your city. These are the natural forces you'll negotiate to expand your city amid rising pollution, changeable weather, and seasonal challenges.

Iceflake Studios is really saving this game right now and I can finally recommend it.
Im just overall sick of games milking me for every dollar they can while providing the least possible value.
I bought Cities Skylines years ago, but whenever I tried it as a n00b I always bounced off of it, just something as basic as the way power had to be provisioned annoyed me. Cities Ckylines 2 obviously launched to a very poor reception, so I gave it a wide berth, but after the original studio were replaced with Iceflake Studios I started to see some positive videos about the game, and after I heard about the new update coming out next week I took the plunge and bought the game. I have been enjoying it so far, my annoyance with CS power has been resolved in CS2 with roads automatically having power, water and sewerage built in. The game has built in tutorial stuff that is enough to help me along, I haven't had to google much, and it has been fun watching my first somewhat ill conceived town come to life.
After nearly 3 years since launch you'd think the game would have had all its issues sorted. The game doesn't even launch after: Checking integrity of game files (x3) Installing new graphics drivers Reinstalling Allowing through antivirus Deleting cache and all other associated files Trying to run directly from the .exe Trying to run in administrator Do not buy this game play the first one instead. If someone knows any way to fix this it would be greatly appreciated.
game itself is good and improving with the new devs. negative review because i have to have an account to download mods through their stupid mod browser. paradox, your launcher is utterly useless and serves nothing but to add an extra click when launching the game. your mod platform is worse than steam workshop in every way, why did you have to change from CS1 which used workshop?
Now that it's clear that Iceflake Studios can deliver consistent updates and fixes for the game I can actually comment on the game. Before they became the devs behind the game, the game felt like a game in beta, it felt incomplete. Now it's really starting to feel like a fully fleshed out base game and I could not be more happy about the progress. Overall in the last year the quality of game play has significantly gone up. Before I wanted to recommend this game and now I think I can. That said the Bridges and Ports DLC was insanely expensive and I will be disappointed if new full sized DLCs are that price if the content in them is around the same amount as the Bridges and Ports DLC. The creator packs also feel a tiny bit more expensive then they should be but the building quality is really high and the packs deliver a lot of content so I'm willing to buy them still.
Let me be upfront: when Cities Skylines II launched in October 2023, I was deeply disappointed. Not just as a fan of the original, but as someone who felt genuinely let down by the people responsible for bringing it to market. Two and a half years on, with Iceflake Studios now at the helm, I find myself in the surprising position of writing something I didn't think I'd be able to say for a long time — this game is finally worthy of the Cities Skylines name. But before we get to the good news, let's talk about accountability. In the week before release, Colossal Order themselves acknowledged that the game's performance may not be up to expectations at launch. And yet Paradox Interactive, as publisher, pushed it out the door anyway. Yes, Colossal Order must share some of the blame — they built the game and the technical shortcomings were real. But the decision to ship a product that its own creators flagged as not ready sits squarely with Paradox. Publishers control the money, the marketing, and ultimately the release date. That responsibility cannot be dodged. After two years of painful patches and failed DLC, Colossal Order and Paradox parted ways, with Iceflake Studios stepping in to take over all development. Iceflake have since delivered a UI overhaul, improved terraforming tools, better lighting, more distinct weather systems across maps, and community-friendly "legacy toggles" letting us choose which simulation changes they adopt. Steam reviews and statements from the major players noticeably changed for the better, and for the first time since launch the game genuinely feels like it has momentum behind it. Is it a perfect game? Not yet. But for the first time I believe Cities Skylines II has earned its place as a true successor to the original. Iceflake have been making all the right noises and have backed this up with a couple of excellent patches - and I'm watching with considerably more optimism than I had two years ago and look forward to what Iceflake might being to the game in the future.
300+ hours of gameplay. you'll be frustrated and disappointed at how much you enjoy this game. the concept of the overall game is perfect. spend your time developing and watching your city grow. the only issue is this game is chock full of bugs. gameplay is impossible without the lane connector mod. and when they patch one bug a side effect from the patch creates another. its extremely frustrating feeling like you have to start from scratch again after spending hours developing a city only to find there's some new bug you have to work around that you could not have foresaw. i love the game but the lack of support can be frustrating at times. it does feel like the devs are at least trying. its just taking a lot longer then it should. 6/10
Great city building game so far. Since there's new ones coming in the future. There is tons of modifications and stylization of your chosen region. Graphics are ok. Better than Sim city. I'm not just that good of a city planner and designer. But this game has all the tools and dlcs you will need.
