Cities: Skylines is a modern take on the classic city simulation. The game introduces new game play elements to realize the thrill and hardships of creating and maintaining a real city whilst expanding on some well-established tropes of the city building experience.
Modeled estimate, not a reported figure. How we estimate →
Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
No United States chart position — it charts only in the markets below.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

Each DLC is estimated with the same model as a game, then summed — a modeled figure, not reported DLC sales.

Reviews
The original game that proved city builders could be addictive mainline entertainment instead of a niche genre for spreadsheet enthusiasts with too much free time. Colossal Order looked at SimCity's corpse and said, "We can do better," then actually did it. You zone dirt, watch traffic become a Gordian knot of your own making, and slowly realize you're running a Soviet-style planned economy where nothing works but it's your fault, which somehow feels great. The masochism is exquisite. The game doesn't tell you how to run a city — it just watches you fail at basic resource management and cackles. Every city collapses because of traffic and sewage, which is weirdly realistic. The modding community carries the weight of a thousand developer sins here. The base game is solid but deliberately incomplete, waiting for some brilliant teenager to fix what the studio couldn't be bothered to. That's the real gameplay loop: hunt for mods until your city actually functions like humans designed it. Genuinely great once you accept that you'll spend half your time in the workshop downloading someone else's solution to "why are my citizens drowning in piss." The other half is pure sandbox zen until it all catches fire. Absolutely play it. Just keep a mod list handy and prepare to lose your weekend.

Too few observations to say whether a discount moves this store's chart at all: across the last 30 days Steam · Top Sellers · Poland has just 18 day-to-day chart moves that followed a price cut, against 2,498 that did not. We are publishing the count instead of a direction — 20 is the fewest we will draw a conclusion from, and price collection outside the United States began on 6 August 2026.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
