Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 17: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 4.56/day in the week to Aug 4 → 5.86/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Honestly. You buy this cause you can't afford a real copy, Buy don't feel right to pirate the game out right.
The Ultimate Masterpiece: A Transcendental Sanctuary of Time and Soul
How do you find the words to review perfection? After clocks, eras, and 39 hours of sheer geometric brilliance, I feel an absolute necessity to leave this mark here. If I don’t, I will live with a permanent sense of unfulfillment. I have fully beaten Hollow Knight and Undertale, yet Chrono Trigger stands on an entirely different plane. It doesn’t just end; it stays within you, altering your relationship with reality.
The Odyssey of a Lifetime: From 7 Years Old to Final Completion
My journey with this game began on the Nintendo DS when I was barely seven or eight. Back then, it was beautifully complex, I had no tactical awareness, and my father constantly had to step in to untangle me from brutal boss fights. Yet, the imagery burned itself into my mind: riding pteranodons in prehistory to slay a Tyranno. I stopped at the Black Omen. Years later, in year 8 (cinquième), I returned, only to be utterly heartbroken by the loss of Chrono at the Ocean Palace. I never finished it then. Yet, the music inhabited me. I fell desperately in love with the OST, learning its tracks on the piano, carrying its echoes for years. My sole, minor grievance with the entire work is that Yasunori Mitsuda could not compose the entire soundtrack due to his tragic illness; while Nobuo Uematsu’s contributions are stellar, you can feel a slight stylistic shift. If Mitsuda had poured his inner fire into every single track, the sonic cohesion would have been flawless, especially with motifs like Silent Light recurring so profoundly.
Surgical Precision and Absolute Freedom
Chrono Trigger is the quintessence of video games at their zenith. The narrative geometry is staggering, reminiscent of Togashi’s genius in Hunter x Hunter. Nothing is insignificant; nothing is left to chance. Every action echoes down the timeline: - The courtroom trial reacting precisely to your minor initial choices. - The revolutionary, flawless combat system (the best ever designed) where battles happen seamlessly on the map without tedious transitions. - The staggering structural genius of the three Sages scattered across Time (Present, Future, End of Time) while Janus is cast into the Dark Ages. - The profound psychological depth of the cast: Frog’s quiet nobility and heavy redemption; Magus, a trauma-hardened survivor broken twice by fate, seeking his sister Schala across dimensions. Once you unlock the wings of the Epoch, the game offers a transcendent sense of liberation, a feeling of pure sovereignty I have only ever experienced elsewhere in Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The side-quests are unparalleled. Leaving Robo for centuries to turn a barren, arid desert into a lush cathedral of greenery; confronting Mayo and Soy (such brilliantly witty names) in Ozzie’s Fort; helping Glenn lay Cyrus’s ghost to rest so the Masamune can finally awaken—it is a work of absolute structural beauty.
The Midnight Campfire and the Broken Timeline
But the true catalyst of this review, the moment that makes me tremble and catches in my throat even as I type this, happens after Robo’s forest is grown. You sit by the campfire, the atmosphere heavy with melancholy. Lucca wakes up. You control her, stepping into a sudden, unprompted portal that hurls her back into her own past—to the precise day her mother’s legs were crushed and permanently disabled by her father’s invention. The machine roars to life. The tension is absolute, suffocating. The game demands the password. On my first playthrough, I didn't know it. I panicked, inputted the wrong keys, and failed. Returning to the present, seeing her mother bound to that wheelchair... it was a moment of sheer, unadulterated emotional violence. It forces you to realise how a seemingly innocuous, hidden element can permanently alter a life.
An Eternal Refuge
I have unlocked every single achievement, yet I cannot simply close the book. I feel an aching, vital need to go back, to return to the timeline and fix that mistake. Not for a trophy, but to heal that wound. I refuse to leave this world behind without ensuring her mother walks. When I stand atop a mountain, when I am immersed in nature, when I contemplate my own existence and my footprint on time, I think of Chrono Trigger. It has become my sanctuary, my home, my anchor. Only three works of art have ever left such an indelible scar upon my soul: Hunter x Hunter, Hollow Knight, and this. It is a flawless, magnificent monument. Do not just play it, let it transmute you.
The game does indeed crash pretty often, but also it has a built in continue function that links to the last doorway entered so i've never had to back track more than a minute. I'm not a fan of Squares rerelease word/text files, but you can d/l some better ones from Nexus mods. This game is considered the GOAT for a reason. play it.
