Celestian Tales: Old North is a refreshing take on the classic turn-based Japanese style RPG. Scrapping away the cliché of a destined person or a boy/girl-saving-the-world, the story is tailored for a mature audience and questions the bare morals of a human being.

Bought in 2015 this 1 hour game. Then the dlc came out 2016 and 2020 for more than they were worth, added a few hours each of content. I guess it did get finished, I just wasn't interested in buying expensive hour's worth of rpg that felt like dressed up "maker-ace".
A nice, short retro style game with assets, that strongly remind me of ragnarok online. It has good writing, good music and the sprite animation team did an allright job. My only gripe with it is, that the end makes the entire thing feel like just a prequel to the real adventure that is yet to come. Maybe it is a prequel and there's a title i know nothing about? There are several big decisions that you never see the resuts of.

uma ótima historia, com muitos detalhes
Celestian Tales: Old North is a traditional role-playing game (RPG) developed by Ekuator Games. Set in a fantasy world, this game offers a classic RPG experience with a focus on storytelling and character-driven narratives. Here's a review of Celestian Tales: Old North: One of the strengths of Celestian Tales: Old North lies in its narrative-driven gameplay. The game revolves around a group of young heroes, each with their unique backgrounds and motivations, who are destined to shape the future of their world. The storytelling is rich and immersive, filled with political intrigue, moral dilemmas, and personal conflicts. The characters are well-developed and their relationships evolve over the course of the game, making players feel emotionally invested in their journey. The game's dialogue system and decision-making mechanics add depth to the narrative. Players are presented with choices that can impact character relationships and shape the outcome of certain events. This element of choice and consequence adds replayability and encourages players to explore different paths and storylines. In terms of gameplay, Celestian Tales: Old North follows a traditional turn-based combat system. Players engage in strategic battles, where positioning, skill usage, and timing are key factors for success. The combat mechanics are solid and satisfying, offering a good balance of challenge and strategy. Additionally, the game features a skill development system that allows players to customize their characters' abilities and playstyles, adding depth and personalization to the gameplay experience. Visually, Celestian Tales: Old North has a charming and hand-drawn art style. The environments are detailed and the character designs are distinctive, capturing the essence of a classic RPG. The soundtrack complements the game's atmosphere, enhancing the emotional impact of the story and battles. However, it's important to note that Celestian Tales: Old North has some shortcomings. The game's pacing can feel slow at times, especially during long dialogue sequences and exploration sections. Additionally, the game lacks voice acting, relying solely on text-based dialogue, which may limit the immersion for some players. The overall difficulty level of the game is also relatively low, which may disappoint players seeking more challenging combat encounters. Overall, Celestian Tales: Old North offers a compelling RPG experience with a strong emphasis on storytelling and character development. Its engaging narrative, solid turn-based combat, and charming art style make it an enjoyable choice for fans of classic RPGs. While it may have some pacing and difficulty issues, the game's immersive world and memorable characters make it a worthwhile journey for those seeking an engaging and character-driven RPG experience.
Great RPG Game
There are story beats that will make you want to rage uninstall, but if you can get past those hitches this a worthwhile RPG that I honestly believe may have inspired the Square Enix RPG Octopath Traveler. Compare the cast of both games, their backgrounds and movesets, if you're interested to see why I think that. Good game.
