About
Collect awesome monsters to use during turn-based battles in this open-world RPG. Combine any two monster forms using Cassette Beasts’ Fusion System to create unique and powerful new ones!
Welcome to New Wirral, a remote island inhabited by strange creatures you’ve only dreamed of, nightmares you hopefully haven’t, and a cast of brave folks who use cassette tapes to transform for battle. To find a way home you’ll need to explore every inch of the island, and record monsters to your trusty cassette tapes to gain their abilities!
Faced with the constant threat of monster attacks, the residents of Harbourtown, New Wirral choose to fight fire with fire. Record a monster to tape, then play it back to take on its form for battle!
Getting close to your companion has benefits–while transformed you can combine your strengths to gain the upper hand in battle! Any two monster forms can be fused to produce unique, fully-animated new fusion forms.
Certain monster abilities can be used in human form. You’ll need these to help you get around, solve puzzles, and locate dungeons. Glide, fly, swim, climb, dash, or turn magnetic! Take on the Gauntlet – a never-ending battle mode where you’ll face fearsome enemies for precious material and glory!

Never fight alone! Form bonds, spend time together, and help your selected partner complete personal goals to become a better team. The strength of your relationship determines how well you’re able to fuse!
Take advantage of elemental chemistry to apply extra buffs or debuffs alongside your attack, or even alter your opponent’s elemental type!
Team up with a friend in local multiplayer to explore, transform, and fight together!
Party up with Online Multiplayer to trade monster tapes, challenge your friends to 1v1 battles, and team up to take on powerful Rogue Fusion beasts for great rewards!

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Que bueno que no capturas los chimpocomones con esferas porque nintendo ya estaría demandando. Buen juego.
It's ok
I absolutely loved playing through Cassette Beasts! As an avid creature collector fan, I think this was - and to this day still is - my favorite creature collector game! I loved the art style and the 2.5D aspect of the game! I was originally a bit unsure if I'd like the combination of 2D and 3D together (this was my first experience of a 2.5D game), but to my surprise it worked really well and looked really good! The level designs were fairly easy to navigate and moving from one place to another felt fairly fluid! It was a bit of a surprise that the game had the possibility to romance with specific NPCs! It's not necessarily content for me, but I liked that the possibility was there. My only nitpick about it was that if you found yourself in a situation that you would have been able to romance with a character and didn't want to "lock in" with said character because you hadn't met all of the possible candidates yet, there was no way to pick up that romance path once you turned someone down. I would have wanted to get to know all the characters before making that choice, and then initiate a romance with one of them. The game was nice and challenging enough to my taste! Not too hard but not too easy either! Especially the Archangel battles kept me on my toes and made me really want to focus on the battle and what moves and beast forms I'd use! I really loved the battle mechanics and I absolutely lost it when I got to try out fusion for the first time! The fusion mechanic was so awesome and it brought so much more depth into the battles (not to mention ramping up the creature count significantly)! The fact that pretty much all battles were double battles (both sides have two monsters) was really nice and forced to think more carefully what beast forms you should use. Talking of monsters: This game had a very nice variety of monster designs and quite distinct style to them! After finishing both the main game and the DLC I even went and ranked all of them on a livestream, talking which aspects I liked or disliked in each design! There were so many cool creature designs, not to mention the HUGE amount of fusions you could make of them! I absolutely loved the thrill of exploring different fusions and it was so cool to see them for the first time! As a so called "shiny hunter", I really enjoyed Cassette Beasts' spin on the shiny mechanic too! The game has "bootleg" creatures that have a different typing (and thus also color!) to their original form, and that made the "shiny" hunting so much more cool! It wasn't just a cool different colored creature, but actually different typingwise too, which could affect the way you played the whole creature! Despite the actual story missions being single player only, I really enjoyed that you could play with friends outside the main story missions! It's always a HUGE plus for me if I can play a game with my partner, so of course we both had to hunt down some cool bootlegs together between story missions! It would have been even better if I was able to play through the whole game with my partner, but that will have to wait for the next Cassette Beasts title! ;) This game really knew how to tickle my nostalgia with all the cassette player / oldschool references which felt super fun to me personally and my (stream) audience, who consists mostly of people who are 30+! Overall, this game felt so fun to play through and it really got be hooked! It feels familiar enough to the classic monster collecting genre but brings in so much more that it definitely does not feel like a "clone" of the most wellknown title in the genre! This game deserves all the praise it has gotten and so much more! I HIGHLY recommend giving this game a try! It will be worth your time! ... I'll be back for Cassette Beasts 2002! ;) <3
I'm really not an RPG fan, but this games really earned my respect! Great soundtrack, great story, fun characters. amazing graphics, and not crazy long if U really grind at it! Rating: 8/10
