Ben basit bir adamım, Tsubasa yı görürüm parayı basarım.
TLDR: If you're on the fence, don't buy this game. If you're reading reviews you're likely on the fence and should probably buy Rise of New Champions instead, or wait for a deep discount. As a purely spectacle soccer game in the vein of Mario Strikers, this game is a gem. Better than the first for couch co-op, and I suspect that is what they were going for when they revamped the gameplay. Everything looks gorgeous and I haven't ran into any bugs. I had a lot of fun and as someone who has never played soccer or even looked at a soccer game before Tsubasa RONC, it was extremely easy to learn (by design) and exhilarating to play. BUT, I don't think people buy a Captain Tsubasa game to play a two button spectacle sports game. Off the top of my head: Tactics are gone (NO MARKING/FORMATION SHIFTS), there's only one pass button and the dribbling minigame has been made even simpler, performing crosses has been made brainless, stats being removed makes a lot of players feel same-y outside of special animation moves. Especially bad for the non story relevant players, half the teams just don't have an identity anymore outside of their "Super" move setups. You go through the story, which is a modified version of the "World Youth Hen" story I think. And as a story mode, it's functional with a few well animated cutscenes who's adaptations I cannot speak upon. However, the RPG mechanics from the first game involving your custom character are also, completely gone. Your guy is an accessory to the main story, and your choices in cutscenes can no longer effect how the story plays out. I believe this to be a direct downgrade over the RONC story mode as well. The main problem the first game had was a complete lack of content post story. The strange arcade mode they added later attempted to fix this, but it just wasn't interesting enough and no one played it. I'm here to say that this game has even less content than Rise of New Champions. No custom teams, only one CaC (I didn't even like how overpowered they could be but the devs nerfed them heavily in this game, it could have worked out), no tournament mode. Why does the $0 Captain Tsubasa Mobile game from a couple years ago have more interesting game modes than a game I paid $80 for? Even if the number is 2 > 1, I think this is the worst part out of all this. The development time was mostly wasted fixing something that didn't need much changes (gameplay), when they could have added something like the Pro Clubs mode from the mobile game, or an (online) league mode, or anything. Really bummed out by how this game turned out, but that's gaming in 2026 for you. I don't think any of the games I've been excited for have been good this year. Maybe they'll add new game modes with an update???
After 25 hours (I haven't finished Story Mode yet) + Gameplay: Different from the 1st Episode (Slower but better) + Graphics: huge improvement, in my opinion + Many Teams and Players <3 - Lack of solo Content (no team creation, no tournament, can't play with m brother in the same team) - Boring Story mode, too much useless talk
Unfortunately I'm in the disappointed fans camp. The game looks gorgeous and runs very well for me, no technical issues whatsoever. However most things I loved about the first game (that made me pre-purchase the sequel) seem to be gone! I loved the actual football game play and how super moves were implemented as expected from a Tsubasa game. The 50/50 dribble/tackle system was flawed to say the least but it was at least easy to follow and felt rewarding when chosen correctly. Now the gameplay feels like a tackle/dribble spam all over the place with players super tackling literally from across the screen regardless of distance. Once the gauges are full, it's a super move fest. Passing feels so weak and everything is simplified into a single button. I don't think they want you to pass and keep using dribble and super moves all the time instead. The GK minigame sounds like an interesting idea but in execution, I don't like that either; most of the time I can't react to pick a side as GK. I'm already getting tired of the Story Mode because it doesn't let me use items, build my player, increase bonds with characters to pursue moves that I like etc. You know, all the RPG elements that made the first game a wonderful single player experience are not there anymore. I'm not too excited about the visual novel aspect so far (I watched all episodes of the anime in more than one generation), probably because the actual game itself in between is not long enough or good enough to want to continue finishing episodes. I did not have this feeling when playing the story mode and new hero mode in the original. I'm not entirely sure what they had in mind and what they went for after RONC but it doesn't seem to be doing it for me. I'll look forward to future content though, there's still hope as I love the IP.
