This game fails to be boring
Roguelikes that are skill-based are hard to make work well, and this one is a blast :D
writing this review to repent for pirating the game on my android phone with a windows emulator. finally am able to own a copy, ty miss talia u made a great game.
It just needed to be real. Even if just for a moment.
A lone soul wanders through purgatory. Grotesque, surreal, inthralling, Hieronymous Bosch's Brutal Orchestra is truly a symphony to behold.
This game has very challenging, but fun gameplay. It also has a rather well written story, which may be quite a sad one, but it blends the sad story with some rather silly and funny jokes and a charming cast of characters. In summary; I like this game :3
While I was aware of Talia's games for a while, this one is really what got me into this rabbithole. The 5 slot formation system is complicated enough to take brainpower to predict and calculate risk around alongside the other, more normal turn based rpg mechanics, but understanding it means your mistakes and what you should have done different instead are very clear. But what really elevates this game so far above a lot of other turn based roguelikes is a great story. A combination of some visual storytelling and some very economical dialogue helps set up characters quickly. This means it has the set up for an ending that was one of the few recently to make me tear up.
I'm going to leave this review as a placeholder for a better review later. I'll just say that it's a very interesting game that's worth checking out and that has a narrative with tremendous emotional power.
