Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

EDIT: I've now played the second game, Earned in Blood, and I can happily say it fixes ALL the issues mentioned below and then some, and is superior in every way. Aside from the tedious tank missions, I can fully recommend it. A fantastic gameplay concept that gets bogged down by terrible execution. I look forward to trying later games in the series, where the formula has hopefully been improved. When it's fun, it's very fun, but most of the time it's a tedious, frustrating slog. Nostalgia blinders is the only explanation for this game's popularity. -Mechanics/Map Design: Unfair and uninteresting. The suppression-and-flank mechanic is the only one that works in this game, and they banked everything on it. Too bad you can rarely take advantage of it. It's like getting a really cool car that always breaks down. The "hallway" nature of maps makes it impossible to really take advantage of it most of the time, so you just end up shooting at one another behind a wall anyway or making a dangerous charge. You could say this was meant to force you to take losses, which would've been interesting, but the game cripples you for doing so. Enemies are either incredibly incompetent or deadshot snipers shooting a panzerfaust from the hip while running. It's not fun. -Checkpoints: This game is in desperate need of a quicksave system or more frequent checkpoints. Given the unfairness above, trudging through the same 20 minute sequence repeatedly is boring and frustrating. -Embarrassing Story Presentation: The wannabe Saving Private Ryan/Band of Brothers vibe is cringe. The actors did a decent job, the writers less so, and the director did the worst. Character deaths have very little impact because the game only throws some exposition at you instead of building a bond with your squadmates. Some are introduced for moments only to be killed in a sappy, dramatic scene, but you barely know who they are besides an NPC with bad pathing. So many things don't fit or become obnoxious. Soldiers yell constantly for instance, even when you're just standing there in complete safety, because there's no context marker on their lines, which they're forced to give every so often. The whole thing comes off as bad fan fiction and sloppy. -Weapon Accuracy: Yes, the point is to command your units rather than do most of the fighting yourself. However, even a battle rifle is less accurate than a shotgun, shots spreading randomly until you're within 10ft of the enemy. This is not an exaggeration. This was done to force the suppression mechanic, but it was a weak method of doing so.

I love these games a lot and that I'm reliving my childhood days with SGT Baker and the gang.
one of the best WW2 games out there, really felt different from others with how it prioritizes strategy over just running around and shooting stuff
Recomendo.
goated story
It's a solid game. It holds up even today. Though, it is rough around the edges. The series gets progressively better, but I still think the first game is solid. The story is what you'd expect, they don't quite nail it, but it's not bad. Voice acting and dialogue is good. Most of the missions are challenging. Though there's a simple rock, paper, scissors to it all, it does make you think. Successfully using your squads makes the missions a heck of a lot easier. As it's pretty tough to just run and gun with how the aiming mechanics work. They are similar to Medal of Honor Pacific Assault, or Hell Let Loose. For $4 on sale or $10 normal, it's worth the price. Took me about 15-20 hours to beat the game. Though I do think I restarted halfway through years ago. Game still runs perfect, no crashes, on Windows 11. So that's a pleasant surprise. And even a potato could run it well.
TLDR: Revolutionary for its time, Road to Hill 30 has aged gracefully in its story, but shows its age in shooting mechanics. Pros: - In an oversaturated genre, Road to Hill 30 sets itself apart through an intense and emotional storyline with some of the best voice acting in gaming history. You'll genuinely care about Baker and his squad. - Gritty combat feels frighteningly realistic, despite its age. Ragdoll physics, impactful explosions, and armor/heavy weapons that can change the course of a battle instantly. - Map design is based off real world battles/locations and it feels very genuine. - Incredible soundtrack, effects, and ambiance. Cons: - The shooting is frustrating due to weapon sway and exaggerated recoil. I get they wanted to make the player feel like they were frantically in a battle and 'only human', but the reality is dumping a Thompson mag into 3 unsuspecting Germans should be possible... in Road to Hill 30, it isn't. - Some brutal difficulty spikes feel unfair (even on easy). - While the AI for enemies can catch you off guard for a game this age, the friendly AI leaves much to be desired. Your brothers will run headfirst into MG-42 fire without warning or take cover in front of barriers... - Requires some tweaking to get running on modern monitors. Overall: 8/10
Band Of Brothers
