Overall I'd recommend this game if you're someone who has played Broken Reality or want more of the aesthetics that the game is trying to offer. Overall the game is a chill experience but is not without it's flaws. > Bugs are an issue but are being diligently worked on by the devs and patched as needed. > Some puzzles & progression can be rather un-intuitive, the discussion page will be your friend. > The plot does not hold your hand. Even with the context of the first game it's hard to understand why things are happening or what they mean and alot is up for interpretation, it can feel unsatisfying at the end compared to Broken Reality Despite these flaws I recommend the game because it operates in a niche of it's own and for people who enjoy an exploration style game with great aesthetics and don't want to stress out, it really is a solid game.
Got enough time in to give my early thoughts on this sequel to cult classic Broken Reality. I might update this one as I finish the game. It's natural that people create wild expectations in a 8 year period, but they should remember these are indie devs that made it once with a cult classic. Broken Reality awed us back in the day, but it's not easy to pull the same trick twice. We should expect a decent game in the same vein, which is how how I'm going to judge this one - and trust me, I was very highly expecting this one. Some people though seem to forget that Broken Reality was primarily an aesthetic experience more than story-driven or playability-induced one. As an aesthetic experience, it definitely holds. The early area of Minami Beach is very interesting, different from Domo Paradiso with some Latino imagery, which makes for a more distinct identity. Jokes are funny, some memes are updated, and a mishmash of Y2K with current memes going on. The Y2K aesthetics become clear with more elements of Frutiger Aero present in the scenario and in the whole interface, although still dividing space with Vaporwave elements in the initial area. That changes in the Nexus, where Frutiger Aero is overwhelming. Aesthetically the game is pleasing and invites you to explore many nooks and crannies, with its little slummy corners in Minami Beach, or the vast spires and plazas in a glass archology that is the Nexus. Game-wise, it has always been kind of a collectathon, so it plays well as that. As soon as you get the first tools, you're slashing pop-up ads, snapping photos, buying items and collecting likes pretty much automatically, as naturally as in the first game. I liked the new mechanics most of the tools have, like the Katana and the Camera. It is a tad more empty. Or feels like. By density of characters and material, it's similar. But the characters themselves, the quest givers I've met, mostly seem disposable, with one liners, and no further interaction or recurrence after the initial quests. Some of the scenes in Minami Beach were funny, but most of it was not memorable. Furrobotto himself, which could present a number of shenanigans, just laid out some very weak lore, at which point I was asking, why even bother? But again, characters are the detail in this adventure. What I hope for in this game is a new environment and aesthetic to explore. And if in the end, I change my mind about this game, it's probably because ultimately I was as unimpressed by Y2K aesthetic as I was back in the day, compared to the Win95 era. And despite what I said, some story will be important. I am hoping it will kick in later on and have more climatic moments.

I never played the original, so I can't speak to it's qualities as a sequel, but in my opinion as a first-time player to the series, its pretty good & offers a unique experience! It scratches the itch for exploration and secret-finding. The '99/'00 vibe in some of the levels is great, invoking excitement and a bit of awe & wonder. The music is pretty good and really adds to the "ethereal" aspect the game possesses. There's quite a bit of backtracking, but figuring out what the game wants you to do was half the fun, although there were a couple of frustrating moments where I felt totally lost; they ended up being "oh, DUH" moments, though, and weren't due to glitches or anything like that. All-in-all, I liked the experience so much that I bought the original Broken Reality and will be playing that once I finish this one up!

pretty cool video game
Was fun
the writing isn't anywhere near as good as the first game, but at least you get to collect more stuff
If you are a big fan of the first one, you're going to love the second one.
Cool
This game is more of what you loved from the first game; more vibrant vaporwave areas to explore, great music to listen to, and buying up everything in the stores. I liked it enough to create a walkthrough as i played, which i haven't done for any other game. Hope to see more and i highly recommend this game.
