my sad verdict: -Skinny caps spray too broadly. -You can see colors shimmering through despite opacity at 100%. -because the lowest line width is already too broad, it makes spraying a style unnecessarily complicated, not to mention painting details. (Writer since ´94) -The color does not start to run. -Strange Lgqbt "propaganda" everywhere in the game. :D I don't want political statements in games unless they contribute to a story. Thank you. -Refunded. Too bad.
Is Bombing!! 2 an "art game?" Technically, yeah - There's a lot of care put into the feel and functionality of the tools at your disposal and the way they're implemented. The default spray paint tool FEELS like you're spraying paint. Color selection is fast, intuitive, and doesn't interrupt workflow. The game's tool-unlock mechanic lets you learn B!! 2 and evolve your in-world style in a way that feels natural. There are SO many different sizes and 3D shapes of things to paint at your disposal, and the variety inspires new ideas no matter your skill level. So yes, B!! 2 definitely does the "art" stuff right, but it's the world-building details that keep you locked into the game in ways that are hard to describe. There are a lot of thoughtful components that mesh together to set a mood and just make things feel RIGHT. You can paint in silence, or you can plop your boombox down on the ground and paint to a REALLY good original soundtrack. You can play in daylight, or swap to dusk or night time to help you feel like you're a part of Covert Criminal Activity. There are parts of the map that seem unreachable, but with a bit of trial and error and jumping you CAN reach them and it feels good to paint the top of a building, take a screenshot, and have people ask "wtf how the hell did you get up there." Also: DENNIS. If you're an artist, get this game because it's a chill new way to make cool and unique art. If you don't think you're an artist, get this game because you'll have a blast discovering that you've been an artist all along.
I HIGHLY recommend this game! It's really cool that you have a huge urban zone and you can paint whatever you want wherever you want, with a bunch of tools at your disposal. the controls are very responsive, painting on the mouse is surprisingly easy and fun, the graphics are stylized, with a 90's cartoon vibe which really suits the game. I think the only cons would be the price (but understandable, the game was made by like, 1 guy kk, I prefer a thousand times to pay for an idie passion project than for any triple a, and this one is worth the price), and some bugs and missing features, but that the dev already said he will be working on it in the future, so take that into account too. EDIT: the game has reached end of life with a final update. it got a few new maps and an extra blank map mode. still has a few bugs, wich is inevitable rly, but I still mantain my original opinion: it's an amazing game and it's worth a buy^^
Feel like getting up and bombing, but don't wanna deal with the inconveniences of doing it IRL? This is indeed the Graffiti Paradise for you. Simple, fun and powerful, all you'll ever need for everything from tags to throwies and pieces. Big ups to the dev for working with the community on improvements.
the perfect sequel, improving upon the first in every way. very happy to be able to use custom songs on the jukebox!!!
Finally A NONE VR Graffiti Game!!! i have just started but i can see my self playing this game for a hundred and hundred of hours!!! I love the retro aesthetic great choice!
Solid Experience with various art tools you unlock, there's not too much here, its a bit of a collect-athon type with no real combat or objectives other than making some art. more or less, a recommend to any fellow artist. I think its nice and simplistic. a good practice ground for getting more into art programs if you want more of a lively feel (such as being in a open environment opposed to sitting at a desk... well either way you are still at a desk... it just deludes you from thinking that with the ingame setting, so I can see how it can make one relax more, feeling more in their comfort zone for artwork.. if you catch my drift) My only gripes are that billboards drop frames like crazy with some art tools. and that there's not much of a game... maybe later on or in the sequel if made in the future, they might consider making it more interesting with possible art related quests, or say having the "Art Police" who left all the posters you remove in this one, maybe they can be more of a threat or even exist in the game.. spray their eyes with some spray paint and they'd stumble away or something... idk just needs more depth to the game to be vastly improved. Art wise - 8/10 for producing art.
If you're someone who loves to draw and/or make their own fun, Bombing!! 2 is something I feel pretty comfortable giving a recommend. I'd equate it to being more like a toy box where you're given a bunch of tools (and more which you unlock by exploring locations and completing some light objectives) and let loose to make or draw whatever you want. When I thought I was done after it took me an hour to complete the objectives, the game suddenly unlocked some really fun tools which clicked immediately for me, and I ended up more than doubling my playtime. It was more entertaining than I expected to alter and play with the environment to get different results that worked with my drawings, and it was also fun to share the results afterward with friends. That said, there's a certain lack of polish in the game at the moment (I stumbled upon extra NPCs placed within objects and occasional flickering environment objects in what seemed like a rendering issue), there's a bright green effect that fills the screen when changing the time of day that can be difficult to look at (which I've heard is being looked into), and there's a lack of traditional game objectives and direction beyond exploring to collect items & tear down posters. If you're looking for more "game" rather than "toy box", then I'd say to maybe check out the demo first and see if it's your kind of thing. If you're like me and love messing around with weird software and games that attempt to play with expectations for the medium, then I'd say to consider checking this one out!
