Absolutely awful. Controls are inconsistent across controller types. Vive wand support is broken. Hands are awkwardly posed. No finger tracking on index controllers despite using the default SteamVR glove hands. Performance is so bad it's unplayable. I got sick within minutes of this, even at lowest quality setting. The game also eventually crashes to a UE4 generic error. not sure if I'd blame the game for a UE4 error, but I don't think the developer is putting enough effort into making this game optimized and playable. Save your $25 and wait for this to get a few more months of updates. I really want to like and recommend this. The videos I saw looked smooth and playable. The concept is also very nice. I'll return to this in the future and update the review once updates happen.
So I rarely review games... but this one really makes me upset and tilted... First things first the positive! • Game looks nice in fact my pc can handle the game on the very high graphic preset. Can’t think of anything else positive right now… oof The Negative.. • The controls are horrible, I sat and struggled with trying to turn the music in the game literally and it was blasting in my poor ears like it was incredibly loud, but guess that is what happens when you have good earbuds. • Hands are weirdly posed and I can’t grab things.. At least 95% of the time and when I can I struggle to pick it back up >:/... I have a HTC Vive VR Headset and have the default wand controllers. I would really love to actually get into this game but it is literally unplayable with my controllers… to sit there and struggle to do anything really kills the mood of trying to play it. I might revisit the game later on when there’s more and better controller support, and update my review on this game but till then big L and thumbs down. Video out on July 7th at 8 AM MST (GMT-7) then you can see my visual struggles... https://youtu.be/IX-17nmcp4A -- Key was given to me from Keymailer
Very fun game, the dev is welcoming in the community hub, and in my case, responded in under an hour. the main game has some minor issues, but they don't render the game unplayable. overall, very recommended.
It works (with valve index). The user interface needs a lot of work. Menus should NOT be "on" the table. They should be floating and movable. You need a lot fewer parts, and a tool to scale them. So a single axle part, which you can stretch or shorten, and for advanced users, the diameter can also be changed. Parts could optionally snap to multiples of a single brick unit in size. For an excellent example of what I want, look at the "gizmo" tool in tabletop simulator. It allows detailed adjustment in each of the three dimensions; can also be used for fine adjustment of part location and orientation while building. I also would like to be able to adjust the table any time, rather than only at start up. The valve index binding should use the grab function rather than trigger to pick up pieces. I know that other VR controllers don't necessarily have this feature, but for the index it makes sense, as then you use the trigger for remote pickup. Hence one needs no special tool for the remote case.
Its lego, in VR, its automatically cool. I will admit theres a couple of oddities, I dont get why the steps are repeated and it would be nice to rotate them rather than just move them around, make it clearer where hidden parts are going but seiroulsy, despite its flaws it works so well.
