[8.5/10] [Story spoilers warning] Since I personally experienced something similar. I had wanted to play this game ever since the demo was released. After the full version came out, but the "Fight" DLC had not been released yet, so I completely finished the first half of the game with full completion (hahah). Later, when I finally had the time, I came back and finished the rest of it. Overall, the story really moved me. Many parts of the game felt exactly like things I had experienced myself and reminded me of the correctional institute that my parents had sent me to before. The issues shown in the game, such as institutional problems, abuse, violence, electric shock torture, the mistreatment of people in vulnerable situations, and other inhumane forms of punishment, are things that genuinely exist. They are also things I still cannot forget even today. Because of that, I have naturally loved this game, and this is the only interactive movie-style game that I was able to fully play through. The story has two endings, and I personally prefer the 2nd ending. Considering that the characters are trapped in such a violent hell, it feels like using violence might actually be the better outcome? The relationships between the characters were also portrayed in a very vivid and believable way. The only real flaws are that some scene details, certain dialogues, parts of the editing, and the design and overall experience of some mini-games and investigation interfaces occasionally feel a little awkward, which can break the immersion. And that is why I deducted the 1.5 points. The story at the end of the 1st ending seems to hint that there might be a second game. (or never) Looking sooooo forward to it! And I will trying to finishing the another half of the game with full completion. Love it.
I'm a big FMV game fan and have played dozens over the years. It doesn't take much to make me happy, but ultimately I was let down by this game. The story and the FMV scenes are fine. But this game is too clunky with too many unexplained dead ends to recommend. I shouldn't have to keep coming back to Steam Communities to figure out where I went wrong.
剧情、演技均顶尖水平,但全探索难度太高,也是玩这么多影游唯一一部未全成就的一部。
another 9/10 Masterpiece based on true story
