GTA meets South Park with sex and drugs in BoneTown, a hilariously hardcore game that combines free roaming, action adventure gameplay with fucking, fighting, and getting fucked up.

the game locked me out of the final mission after going to the main menu
I didn't play for very long, under an hour, but the gameplay annoyed me so much I don't want to continue any further. This game is terrible. The UI, HUD, and controls are the most offensive things about this game. It's ugly as hell. This game came out in 2021 but it feels like its from the 90's/00's, and not in a charming way. There's just way too many buttons to keep in mind and the gameplay just... isn't fun. The fighting is annoying more than anything. Really boring combat and getting stunned after one hit only to have a bunch of other guys get in on it and stun you more just gets on my nerves. I like being able to actually move around in games. The writing, characters, crude humor, doesn't bother me personally. Its more cringe than anything. If you just want a game to get off to, this aint it lol.
The best way I can describe this game is that it is Tony Hawk Pro Skater, but instead of skating you're doing whatever it is that Hunter Biden does.
BoneTown is more like Groan Town for me, and i'll explain why. First off, for an open world it's more of a level-based game. While I appreciated that it made the collectibles more easier to find, I feel like it makes it feel like the game is a get from point A-B, instead feeling more connected like GTA. But that aside, even if that's minor, what isn't is the movement. I understand there ARE powerups, but there aren't even small transports like skateboards or bikes to travel with, and even if the game is structured in level segments, places like the first level can be long to walk and the inclusion of at least bikes, scooters, or quads would have made movement far less tedious, yet there's none. Also, the weaponry is very limited to only melee and the attacks are all the same, have limited targeting range, and have limited knockback. Which leads me to another point, Combat is AWFUL. After playing Sleeping Dogs, River City Girls, and Yakuza, never have I seen combat that's super clunky. Attacks do minimal damage to even the smallest enemies, take so long to charge, and enemies can rush you in succession, and every time you get hit, you drop your weapon, and get knocked down, so it's near impossible to recover, leading to lots of deaths. Also, the A.I. is horrible, because NPCs will attack you simply by walking past them or accidentally targeting them, and you'll have an army after you. This made the first mission barely beatable, because I kept getting beat up, and enemies will chase you forever. You can't escape them. Also, the main gimmick is to raise your "level" to increase your reputation, which is another grindy mess. You can't do anything related to the DLC or the main game's activities unless your level is high enough. And I'm not sure how to raise it other than story, but even when it was at 1, it dropped to -1 randomly after I died and after enemies would fight me. It really sucks too because your level means everything and if it's low you can't do any of the game's main features. And the 2nd mission was very frustrating because it told me to keep beating enemy groups but I kept getting knocked around and once failed the mission by falling off the map. The DLC apart from cheats are useless too because you just get buildings to go in, different outfits for npcs, and activities you can't use locked behind level grinding. It would have been better if like Saints Row you increase your level by doing side activities because it could make more sense to get your level up faster and build your reputation better. The best things I can say about this game is that the powerups are ok, the open world has potential, and being able to switch bodies is good, but the game has so many useless, annoying mechanics and even clunkier combat that I would not say this game cuts it as a good open world game or otherwise because even the intimacy has no real magic to it other than the voices, and the customizer. It's just an overall bad game for all those reasons, one of the worst open world games i've ever played, and an even worse intimacy game. And it's certainly not worth $19.99. Heck, it barely feels worth $2.99 without paid DLC.
say what you want this game has a fire ass soundtrack .
If you are even looking at this game then you know what you're getting into. It will have all of that.
Bully's younger brother is a little horny and a little racist but he cool.
definitely made me cry from laughing so hard. i never had the pleasure of playing the original release but going on in the game with so much freedom and the main enemy in the game is "the man". i will definitely be putting some hours into this cause i've never experienced so much freedom in any other games other than gta v or skyrim. again this is one of those games that just comes around once in a blue moon and its just an experience you need to have at least once. also the games music is a total vibe
oh f**k im gonna, im gonna... COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM
One of the greatest games I've ever played, genuinely. It's absolutely stupid, sure. But it's charm is undeniable. Even booting it up in the big 2026 feels like I've downloaded some crazy shareware that losers jack off to. If you view art as a spectacle of media and medium, buy this game ASAP.
