About
A brutal FPS. One girl. One gun. One recording.
They broke into her life.
They filmed her. They destroyed her.
Now she's back - and she's filming them.
Better Than Dead is a brutal first-person shooter set in the depths of photorealistic Hong Kong.
You play as a survivor who’s done running. She’s got a pistol, a bodycam, and a kill list.
Every level is a raid. And every raid has a rhythm.
You'll die. You'll learn. You'll come back faster - until every run feels like the revenge scene it was meant to be.
Bodycam revenge shooter – Film every step. Every shot. Every death. No mercy.
Learn, adapt, dominate - Each room has a rhythm. Die, read the layout, and come back harder. Every run is faster than the last.
Photorealistic Hong Kong – Fight your way through iconic action-movie settings: neon-lit restaurants, seedy nightclubs, back alleys, rooftop dens.
Raw, aggressive gunplay - Slide into bullet time. Move fast. Hit harder.
Cinematic action style – Inspired by classic Hong Kong action films from the ’80s and ’90s.

This game is very fun, but the aim controls for the gun are absolutely awful. Even if you try your hardest to focus and be precise, the amount of variance and movement allowed prevents you from being accurate. Since the whole game is based on shooting mechanics, it's a letdown. Maybe I'll recommend it in the future. For now, I would wait.
This game is one of the most incredible experiences I've had in a game. The level of immersion is astounding. The difficulty curve is steep as hell, for sure. Once you get the hang of it, however, you just become John Wick and start drilling through these guys. The first thing I did after finishing the game was play it again to see how my new skills held up. At $14, this is a must buy if you can run it!

Its John Wiccan!!! Bought for reasonable price, very satisfied so far. Feels real...as in you actually die in one hit kind of real. I am not that great at games and still enjoyed the flurry of decisions and bullet time thrown my way. Some missions required multiple playthroughs to get right, others flowed quickly and gave a rush! Very cool, support small devs and hope to see more added! Get it.
i like this game, BUT i don't get why the sounds and music in the levels is always misplaced/louder in certain places where it doesn't make sense. also, the movement of NPCs looks so out of place that it ruins the immersion that the game is all photorealistic with good particle and object physics, but the NPCs are really weird. i don't even want to mention how bad the ragdoll system for them can be sometimes where they just fly wherever. also there is a smoke particle that appears in the level "Save Her" that makes a significant fps drop when you walk near it. also, there is clearly a lack of gun variety, which svcks because that chinese pistol looks, sounds and feels amazing to fire+reload. but i don't like how the lightning played out weirdly on the arms in the intro level when you first pick up the gun, not necessarily a huge bumer, just another small detail added to the pile of small details that has accumulated in my mind while playing through this game. i would honestly really appreciate if the dev of this game could hire someone to fix these issues that i've mentioned, or if they have the time, do it themselves. i really wanted to make this a positive review, but because of those details that bug me out of the experience, for the love of it, i can't.
I find it hard to believe that I've only played this for just under an hour and at the same time I also can't believe that's how long I've played it. It's a great game with some fantastic moments and I'm really enjoying the gunplay. I love how you're effectively rewarded for being extremely violent and it sells the narrative much more when you play more aggressively. I've only encountered one bug where I did a slide and got stuck in the wall which I think is quite good for a game in EA. The developer is clearly committed to improving the game with more levels being added as well as a level select for when you're trying to get that perfect run. I don't have anything bad to say about the game because it scratches an itch I've had for a while that nothing else has been able to. I feel like it's the closest you can get to VR without being in VR. I'd love to see maybe some more weapons added to play around with at some point but what's there right now is well worth playing and definitely worth the price.
This is one of the best games I've played in a long time. It's difficult, but once you learn how to push for aggression instead of cover shooting, you unlock a whole new game it feels like. It wont be for everyone but I also love the use of fisheye lenses and imperfect controls, you aren't trained for this and it shows, you're just a person with a gun doing what you can to end these evil bastards. My current only issues with the game are stuff that'll be sorted once it's out of early access - things like props interfering with the walkable surface (there's a specific level in a market followed by a long set of stairs, I nearly "surfed" down it on a piece of metal from one of the walls). Secondly, the game could be a little more specific with how the combat works given that the "near miss" pressure system is often only mentioned in passing upon death screen tips or while the game is loading, but I imagine this is also my fault for not trying the training range. The level "Buried In Red" is legitimately one of the greatest experiences I've had, the pulsing red lights give it a terrifying atmosphere with the low visibility letting your mind write what might be lurking in the shadows. It's the best of a long series of fantastic levels, and I can't wait for this to be out properly to replay it. I'd compare this to a faster paced version of Ready Or Not with the main similarities being uncovering a dark and twisted place while trying to save people and take down those behind it. Anyway 10/10, gonna try to Black Star these levels now.
I do love this game but i do more love if have uncensored setting. please dev make uncensored in setting. love your game !!!
