Ninini
I'd call this a nice, little game, but as you might notice from the hours played, "little" might not be correct word. I've never been a big fan of nonograms, always struggled with solving them. Squeakross introduced them so well, and offers help if needed the whole time, and as I write this review I have finished every single puzzle in the game. I have a lot of love for this game, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to any puzzle lovers, or those who'd like some brain tinglers. The puzzles gradually get more and more difficult, so it's a very good learning curve. The designs are really cute, the amount of LGBTQIA+ pride items is super sweet and lovely, and if you click on your rodent they'll squeak. All in all, it's a near perfect game if you're interested in these types of puzzles and like rats, mice, hamsters, etc.
so this is a picross game with an adorable little mouse to look after and a super cute room to decorate. i played it for about an hour and a bit but ultimately had to refund it because i am just not good at picross. even with the really well explained tutorials, i am just not a numbers person. picross, sudoku, minesweeper, i'm rubbish. positives: ~ adorable ~ beginner friendly ~ LOADS of puzzles at varying difficulties ~ LOADS of customisation for your mouse ~ an ABSURD amount of items for your home negatives: ~ none really. if you're good at numbers puzzles, you'll love this, and even if you're not, give the demo a go. even though i couldn't figure it out, i still got a good hour of playtime laughing at my mouse and saying "choese" to it over and over. maybe i'll come back to it if i practice a bit more elsewhere
I've only just started this game but I really love it. I used to have pet rats, and I always miss them so it brought me joy to make one of my buddies in this game and do one of my fave kind of puzzles with them. Sooooo excited to make his home comfy cozy. Love u alfie and remy and sidney and laurie my babies

Squeakross: Home Squeak Home is a fantastic and greatly relaxing Picross-style puzzle game developed by Albiune. It has received two substantial content updates since release and a bigger (to my understanding) paid DLC is currently in the works. I can heartily recommend Squeakross: HSH to any fan of Picross. The only thing that leaves a bit to be desired for me, is that while I found the furnishing aspect interesting as a concept when I played the demo, I ended up barely engaging with it, other than decorating one room for fun and placing random objects in a spare room for some achievements. Squeakross gives little incentive to the player to interact with its decoration aspect past these easy-to-hunt achievements that are tied to it, and even less incentive to have the player read its hundreds upon hundreds of in-world E-mails, most of which provide nothing but flavor or pictures of people's random rodents. I can barely get through my own, IRL E-mails, so if a game wants me to go through fictionalized ones, they better be quite damn interesting. Unfortunately, they're just fluff for the most part, with the rare, actually important E-mails (such as those promoting real life, rodent animal care and rescue organizations) getting buried in all of the fluff. So yeah, fantastic Picross game, with a great concept, but if you're anything like me, you're unlikely to engage with like half of it. If those caveats are okay with you, then give this a whirl, it's a good time and with highly customizable accessibility options, rivalling industry gold standards for accessibility like Celeste. The game also has some nice, but entirely unnecessary/inconsequential LGBTQ+ inclusion. Then again, since this game doesn't have much in the way of a story or central narrative, I guess everything in it is "inconsequential" when viewed from a traditional lens. If you like decorating though, and are part of these demographics, you'll find these inclusions quite heart-warming, I'm sure. I certainly did.
