World and NPCs feel empty and lifeless. Combat feels unrewarding and uninspired. Big disappointment. REFUNDED

I am going to start this off with something slightly controversial. Most, if not all of the people leaving negative reviews have barely touched the game (I am talking less than 2 hours of game time before leaving the review), so leaving a negative review is about as useful as chocolate fireguard. The game is not perfect by any means. However, if you like Stellar Blade, Nier Automata and similar games you may like this. I have been playing for around 4.5 hours at the time of the review and I can say a few things. The Good - Combat is actually pretty decent, some of the combos are very slick but it does take some time before you start getting more of the combos etc. so combat initially can seem a bit unpolished. Stick with it, it gets a lot better - I mean, huge dog fighting with you, you can pet it. What more do you need? - Performance - Contrary to what some are saying, I have had absolutely no issues with performance on High / Highest running at consistently 60+ FPS and I am not running a ridiculous PC - The aesthetic of the game I am a big fan of, the overall feel of the first area is very nice - Exploration / freedom is great. I mean, you don't get a huge, huge open space to explore, but you can still explore where you are, find materials, find unique weapons etc. - Overall story - It's exactly what you'd expect from this type of game. It has humanity, it has end of times, you get the idea. If you've played Nier, Stellar Blade etc. you'll get what I mean. It's by no means a 10/10, but it's solid. - Soundtrack - Absolutely brilliant. The Bad - The main bad I have is the graphical settings. These are very limited so you cannot set FoV, remove Chromatic Aberration or Film Grain etc. It doesn't cause a massive issue, it's just my preference for games - Language options - I don't really consider this a negative, but it's only in Japanese with English subtitles if you want them on. Not a huge problem, but for accessibility, it's not the best All-in-all, so far at the time of writing, it's a solid 7.5 / 8 out of 10. Game Freak not doing a Pokémon game was always going to be interesting and I feel that because it's Game Freak, a lot of people are just piling on negative reviews for no reason. Go in with an open mind, try it out and get some levels, then give your honest opinion of the game, don't just finish the prologue and leave a review, it helps no one. I will no doubt edit this once I complete the game, but so far, it was worth the purchase.
no good
Play Stellar Blade or NieR instead they're much better games. This isn't worth the price tag it's a $30-$40 game at best.
Unfortunately can't recommend it in this state. Game stutters a lot for me to the state of being unplayable. Will change my review when this will be patched.
Ya, no. Its the definition of mid. -Story is......is the story even a thing?.....I can't get a feel for any story plot tbh. Something is there, nothing coherent tho. It kinda just throws you in and expects you to just go with it. -Graphics look good at first glance, but inspect a bit more carefully and you notice the lack of polish -Gameplay is ok, but i swear to god the leveling system doesn't make any sense to me. Nothing is really bad (ok the camera can struggle), but nothing is outstanding, its kinda like a 5/10 all around, with the combat sometimes being a 7. There are better games really. But good attempt.
its ok, not 80bucks ok though maybe 20bucks I'll buy again but for now its a return.
Not recommended. I wanted to like this, but it just felt boring after a while. The combat and overall loop never really clicked for me and the pacing dragged hard. Performance was rough. Even after messing with settings I was still dealing with stuttering and inconsistent frame times that made the game feel worse than it should. And no native ultrawide support in 2026 is a dealbreaker for me. Black bars on a modern ultrawide monitor is just not acceptable at this point. Might get better with patches, but right now I can’t recommend it.
