Absolute combat Absolute gameplay Absolute story Absolute characters Absolute gore Absolute replayability Absolute modding Absolute madness
A pretty fun game, where you go into levels and destroy an army of evil goons. The combat is very hectic and similar to the animations is about switching and throwing weapons while endless waves of goons attack you. It's pretty fun. I would recommend to either play on madness or normal difficulty and ignore the tough difficulty, as it makes the enemies a bit too tanky. Although you need a mod in order to play the madness difficulty from the start, since it's locked behind completing the game on tough. The game has 2 main modes, the story mode which is a bunch of scripted missions where you go room to room and sometimes have a bossfight. And the Arena mode, where you usually stay in the same room and defeat waves of enemies. The story mode is pretty fun, just a bunch of missions with cool setpieces and enemies. However, it's very obvious that it was made for co-op, especially during the bossfights. The AI teammates are pretty dumb and you end up needing to revive them constantly, which gets really annoying during bossfights. Still fun with singleplayer if you stick to normal, but definitely made for co-op. Try to play it with a friend in person, or try your luck with steam's remote play feature. The Arena mode is basically another campaign, but you get to customize your character and spec into certain skills, so you can make them really good with guns or a melee monster. You also get to choose an origin, which gives you a unique skill and playstyle. Some origins are locked behind completing the arena mode, but just cheat the imprints in with mods, and choose your favorite origin. It's not worth it to replay the entire arena mode twice to get access to the really cool origins. You also get to hire and customize your goons that join you in your mission, I spent way too much time changing their loadout and playing dressup with them. A very mindless fun mode with tons of customization, but it gets repetitive towards the end, so cheat in the origin that you want since you probably won't complete it more than one or two times.

玩魔法师高难容易被一脚踹死。容易红温变鬼屋憎恶。
This game is a very weird case. As a Madness Combat fan, I love it for; the deep lore expansion, hidden details, characterisation, soundtrack, weaponry, accurate and faithful 3D adaptation, the very fitting grim and bleak atmoshphere/style, and general violence. But as a casual gamer, I'm perplexed by the; lack of major content updates*, obtuse mechanics and systems, and lack of online support** *Yes, I know Krinkles returned to almost, full time animation again (no idea what Swain is up to however) and simply doesn't have time to continue the support and update of his game, but there could have been some kind of plan to sit back and bring on a couple people to assist with programming and asset creation. The game more than made back it's money to do that, even then, there's certainly people out there who would love to contribute to the game for the sake of improving and adding content to it. **Yes... Online support was a donation stretch goal... I KNOW! But come on... They coulda... I'm still looking for weird workarounds The real review here is, if you're a Madness fan, why are you reading this? You've probably already played it or at least watched zep play it for the lore. If you're not, just try the demo first (And maybe go watch the series. Or don't. The game is probably fine as a standalone cohesive story, but it may feel a bit self referential, and certain characters/moments/dialogues may feel inexplicable as they require the series context). Overall I would lightly recommend the game, it's quite unique from most.
Nice roguelite game,pay for childhood.
The game is absolutely lovely. it has so much to do that i don't have the willpower to do it all combat is amazing, the game is easy to get into but very hard to master and enemy and weapon designs are great if you have 25$ buy this game immediately best game in my library so far. also super easy to run on even the highest graphics which is a miracle given my computer is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
