Beacon Pines

Slower and less scary than I hoped. But a fun game none-the-less. Good music, good graphics, interesting story overall. A good game to waste a weekend on.

Not a bad thing, the game didn't require anything more. In fact, more demanding mechanics would likely have taken the players attention away from the plot. Player choices are chosen from "charms", one world icons with some art that are gained by interacting with the world and it's characters. For instance, opening the freezer will give the player the "Chill" icon, which later allows the player to make the choice to be "a little chill". Each choice has multiple charms to choose from and branching choices are recorded upon a tree. As choices are made, the player will hit dead ends. The player will then need to go to another branch to gather more charms, allowing new choices to prevent the dead end. ☐ Very good ☐ Good ☑ It's just gameplay ☐ Mehh ☐ Watch paint dry instead ☐ Just don't ---{ Audio }--- Very good music and sound effects. The plot is told from the perspective of the narrator reading the book to the player. As the story is the main strength of the game I shall not go into details but I highly enjoyed my playthough. ☐ No Story ☐ Some lore ☐ Average ☐ Good ☐ Lovely ☑ It'll replace your life ---{ Game Time }--- The game took me 8 hours to complete. I imagine an average playtime of 7-9 hours would be accurate, depending on how much players explore. As someone with an aversion to reading the same story twice, this game will likely only recieve one playthrough for me. However, if you are the type to have a comfort game or story, this could be it. ☐ Long enough for a cup of coffee ☑ Short ☐ Average ☐ Long ☐ To infinity and beyond ---{ Price }--- I firmly believe this game to be worth the current price of 20$. I've only play 20 minute so far and I had to stop to look up if the narrator voice actress has any other work. If she did an audio book I'd buy it, I dont even care what the story is. If you are reading this Kirsten please do Fourth Wing or ACOTAR or some cool fantasy book! You are amazing!!! I had to stop playing to leave this review because your voice acting is just.... phenomenal.

Fun story, not absurdly long. Had it done in a day, but quite memorable.

I love this game! It's super fun, and kinda sad/creepy. The art in this game is DELICIOUSLY made and I'd recommend you play it!
