About
Beacon Pines is a cute and creepy adventure set within a mysterious book. You play as both the reader of the book and its main character, Luka.
Something strange is happening at the old warehouse, and Luka and his friends seem to be the only ones taking notice. Sneak out late, make new friends, uncover hidden truths, and collect words that will change the course of fate!

While helping Luka investigate the strange goings-on in Beacon Pines, you’ll collect special golden charms, each with a word engraved on it. These charms can be used at certain turning points in the story to fill in a blank word and drastically change everything that follows.

As the book's reader, you’ll navigate the story’s turning points using The Chronicle: an interactive story tree that branches and grows along with your choices. Exploring one set of events can unlock new charms to use on another branch, leading you to jump back and forth between entirely different versions of the story in order to unravel the mysteries at the heart of Beacon Pines.

I'm giving this one a thumbs up because it held my attention to the end and was a solid 6ish/10 imo. My biggest issue with it is the end and the abruptness of it. It seemed short and the end seemed anticlimactic. Like there could have been more done with it. Perhaps that's just a gripe with the length of the story. Characters got fleshed out a bit but not much. Maybe I'm too used to longer games but it did feel like things resolved too simply. However I like the book mechanic and discovering the "charms". Solid experience overall just some things tweaked mechanically and maybe more depth. Like it says it is a horror game but there really isnt much horror, if any. like I said 6ish outta 10
Gute, kleine Visual Novel, mit guten Parallelen Zeitachsen.
Absolutely beautiful little story-rich game with plenty of directions the story takes you down based on your choices. Although a bit linear at times, I really did cherish the tale the game had to tell, and the different artstyles present too. For a low cost, you get about 6 hours of play-time and I'd say those 6 hours make you crave even more once you finish the game. I'd avoid spoilers as much as possible too.
Wow. 11/10 game. I could go on about how much I loved the art, the story, tthe twists, the turns, the choices, the MUSIC, the SOUNDS....but I will leave as much words as I was able to when I finished the game - Incredible. Absolutely incredible. Just buy it and immerse yourself.
A wonderful and adorable little game.
Beacon Pines is such a gem. The story is rich, beautifully written, and somehow manages to be creepy, heartwarming, and incredibly cute all at once. The characters are lovable, the mystery kept me hooked, and every choice felt meaningful. The art style and music create the perfect cozy atmosphere while still giving you chills when the story takes a darker turn. If you enjoy narrative-driven games with memorable characters and clever storytelling, I can’t recommend Beacon Pines enough. It stayed with me long after the credits rolled.
