Short review: Almost
One of a Kind!
Sure, the blend between action and strategy is a little confusing, but one cannot denied that genuine article in a very rare genre! Recommended!
Good for a nostalgic trip!
Pretty true to the original classic. More difficult at the max level.
Still one of the best RTS hybrids in industry.

It's pretty fun, the only thing I think could make this a better game is if it had the damage models of Thunder Brigade, that if that game and this game mixed and covered each others weaknesses, this game would be sick... even without that unique damage model stuff from Thunder Brigade, this game is still plenty fun by itself, just that the combat is a bit plain without the nuance something like Thunder Brigade's combat could offer, where you have to target armour in particular ways to break through it. Conversely, if Thunder Brigade had Battlezone's RTS mechanics and simplicity/ease of use, or its quality and production time, I bet that game would have been a lot better.
I've been playing this game for years. I'm so glad that it is now on Steam. I do find the "revised" steam version more difficult in game play, but I'm sure that was on purpose. So I'm putting it on easy mode and building up my skills.
