The warp has corrupted the devs and they refuse to fix the crashes

I've been playing strategy games for 30 years and never one seen anything approaching how poor the strategy layer of this game is. The game is broken down into two parts, an RTS grid battle mode which is absolutely brilliant and if you liked the first game will love the detail put into the Imperial ship models, and the strategy layer where you have to take and control sectors, only the game screws you hard. You begin with what should be a relatively easy introduction to the game, liberate the Cadian Sector which starts with just shy of 3K enemy fleet power, to your 464, only you don't have 464 in practice because you can only place two fleets in a system when attack, rarely three, meaning you have between 300 and 364. in a battle against an AI that isn't constrained by the same rules as you due to defending, ships are damaged in every battle but at the beginning of the game you have no shipyards, so can't reinforce, and repairs take up to 7 turns. Only problem with all of this is you have 27 turns to conquer the system in and on medium let alone hard, it's impossible, the game is completely unbalanced and doesn't provide you with what you need to meet the objective. All this works fine on easy, but the difference between easy and medium in this game is the difference between easy and nightmare in others. On top of this you can't save throughout the prologue nor the first four turns of the campaign and you cannot change difficulty setting in game. So no, I don't recommend this game because as much as I love 40K, as much as I love the battles and the ships, the fact they couldn't be bothered to patch this game in 8 years does not deserve your hard earned money.
