Can't recommend since the devs don't give a ♥♥♥♥ to the Windows 11 problem. For those suffering under Win 11 due to easy anti cheat the following method worked for me on at least making single player work. Feel free to uninstall EAC also, f--king pointless anyway and I'm not going to disable stack protection for one game. Devs don't seem to give a s--t so I hope the above helps someone. Game is good otherwise if you are into 40k and RTS, recommend even despite the above.
Would love to recommend this game, but I can't get it to boot because I have Hardware-enforced Stack Protection on my computer which prevents its Easy Anti-Cheat drivers from embedding in my system's kernel (which no piece of third party software should ever have to do!). Games with newer versions of the EAC drivers (like Space Marine 2 and Fortnite) have figured out a way to allow the software to run while Stack Protection is still turned on, but the developers of BG:A2 haven't updated the drivers to do so. I'd be happy to change my review if they fixed it.
Posting this until focus or the developer releleases an update DO NOT BUY THE GAME AT THE MOMENT it does not work Easy anti cheat on this game conflicts with windows something stack in windows 11 defender and it will not launch DO NOT GET THIS GAME untill they fix it DEVELOPERS i will happily change my review once you update it to actually work

Requires easy anti-cheat which I have uninstalled as it is a security concern. I only want to play singe-player, but the game refuses to launch without EAC even when adding the -NoEAC launch option. Please at least allow me to play single-player without this ♥♥♥♥♥♥ malware
Great game, loved it when I played it a few years ago. That being said, I cannot run it without EasyAntiCheat even for single player ( -NoEAC in the launch options does not seem to work anymore ), so I cannot recommend it. I just want to play the game by myself, offline. Hell, idk if anyone is even playing multiplayer of a niche, single-player focused, 7 year old game at this point. Why the hell do I need a kernel-level anticheat for that??
Beware if you have a gaming computer, this game is incompatible with the newer graphics cards. I've tried it on 2 different machines and it simply crashes and closes shortly after boot up on both of them. I Googled the issue and it is apparently well known. Probably why it's currently on sale so cheap. It's been like this since it's release so I guess there are no plans to fix it. Too bad, looks like a fun game. Update: I found a fix on Google: OpenSSL Fix (Most Common): Right-click the game in Steam -> Properties -> Launch Options, and paste: cmd /c "set OPENSSL_ia32cap=:~0x20000000 && %command%". Now it works. I've only played a little but the devs get a preliminary thumbs up just for addressing the problem. Also, the game still looks like a blast even after only a few minutes of (finally) getting to play it.
Kernel level access to an anticheat on a single player game that came out in 2019 is wild. I dont give kernel level access to anything anymore.
