About
Welcome to the Living Lands, a mysterious island filled with adventure and danger.
Set in the fictional world of Eora that was first introduced to players in the Pillars of Eternity franchise, Avowed is a first-person fantasy action RPG from the award-winning team at Obsidian Entertainment.
The Living Lands is an island where the air hums with ancient magic, the flora seems to move with a mind of its own, and the ground beneath your feet shifts with secrets waiting to be unearthed.
Now, the Living Lands faces a dire threat—a mysterious plague that defies nature and reason, spreading chaos across its sprawling wilderness.
As an envoy of Aedyr, you are sent to investigate, but what begins as a mission of duty soon becomes deeply personal—you feel as though the land recognizes you and is pulling you toward something greater. The choices you make will ripple across the Living Lands, shaping the fates of its people, its creatures, and even yourself. But beware, for every decision carries weight, and the forces you encounter will not hesitate to test your resolve.
Can you navigate the tangled web of intrigue, power, and danger to uncover the truth? Can you save this unknown frontier and your soul from the forces threatening to tear them asunder?
Even more to do in the game! This update brings New Game Plus, a Photo Mode, a brand new weapon type with two-handed staves, the ability to change character appearance whenever you’d like, new character creation presets, additional Godlike presets, custom game difficulty settings, and the addition of three new playable races: Dwarf, Aumaua, and Orlan.
The Living Lands is a place that feels foreign yet somewhat intrinsic to you as it feels the island itself is calling out to you for help. Explore an island home to many different environments and landscapes, each with their own unique ecosystem.
Mix and match swords, spells, guns, and shields to fight your way. Dig into your grimoire for spells to trap, freeze or burn enemies, bash them with your shield, or use range bows to attack from a distance.
Companions from a spread of species will fight alongside you, with their own unique set of abilities. From a former mercenary to an eccentric wizard, they will be part of your journey with your choices shaping them as you help them with their quests.

While the game is acutally not that bad, yes it aint Skyrim but i enjoyed 3 playthroughs, i learned that i, a white male with a family, am not wanted as customer by Obsidian as their tweets pointed out. I cant return it but i can advice you to not buy if you are in my position because they dont want you to
Avowed was a truly beautiful game, the environment and characters felt alive and vibrant. Every choice I made along the way mattered at the end of the game. What you decide to do shapes your ending, so keep that in mind! The story was enthralling, at no point was I disinterested in what would happen next. The developers did an excellent job pacing the game. Overall, I would highly reccomend this game to those who like The Witcher, Skyrim, and other such open world quest-driven games.
Super unoptimized. Maybe 10 different enemy types. 6 Different weapons. Unique weapons are cool but every enemy is super spongy. Game was designed entirely for melee. Guns and spells were a afterthought.
truly time wasted
Why does it seem like most developers have Human Resources write their games now? The dialogue choices, companions, and overall writing was infinitely better in the first Outer Worlds game. Here it is simply horrible. This game is truly brought down by the bad and boring writing. The game has good combat, class system, and explorable world. But those positive things are dragged down by "Somehow Palpatine Returned" level of writing and story. Its cringe, its boring, its simply awful. Not really an ounce of cleverness or deepness to be found. I thought the music was also a little repetitive and too ambient. Its a true shame as Fallout: New Vegas and Outer Worlds had phenomenal writing, story, characters, and basically everything you would want for an RPG. Yet here, Obsidian simply mailed in the writing, which is an odd lack of focus for a single player role playing game. Every top RPG has great writing and story and this game never even tried. Sad!
Between players and politics they choosed politics.
Visually nice if kinda creepy. Absolutely horrible user interface. impossible to assign keys or quickly use an activate spells. Too bad because this title had potential. Look at Skyrim or Halo for a functional and beautiful user interface. Go back to school and learn how to design a UX
boring
