About
A survival-action game inspired by real-life events, Atomfall is set five years after the Windscale nuclear disaster in Northern England.
Explore the fictional quarantine zone, scavenge, craft, barter, fight and talk your way through a British countryside setting filled with bizarre characters, mysticism, cults, and rogue government agencies.
From Rebellion, the studio behind Sniper Elite and Zombie Army, Atomfall will challenge you to solve the dark mystery of what really happened.
Player Driven Mystery: Unravel a tapestry of interwoven narratives through exploration, conversation, investigation, and combat, where every choice you make has consequences.
Search, Scavenge, Survive: You’ll need to scavenge for supplies, craft weapons and items, and fight desperately to make it out alive!
Desperate Combat: With weapons and ammunition scarce, each frenetic engagement will see you blend marksmanship with vicious hand-to-hand combat. Manage your heart rate to hold a steady aim and ensure you have the energy you need to reach for your cricket bat and land the killer blow.
Green and Unpleasant Land: The picturesque British countryside, with rolling green hills, lush valleys, and rural villages belie the dangers that await you. Navigate cult-controlled ruins, natural caves, nuclear bunkers and more as you explore this dense, foreboding world.
Reimagining Windscale: A fictional reimagining of a real-world event, Atomfall draws from science fiction, folk horror, and Cold War influences to create a world that is eerily familiar yet completely alien.

Random muddy textures everywhere, have you tried fixing it? what's holding you back to fix the game? I'm enjoying the game and a breathe of fresh air for post-apocalyptic games, but please show us some love for those who liked the game!
One of the most enjoyable games I ever played
Atomfall is a huge disappointment for me. Visually it is just okay, definitely not the best but not the worst. It looks much better in the videos. There isn't much depth to the game, the world feels stale, and with very limited exploring. The villages are empty feeling, there are few NPC's, most are a bit annoying. The open world really isn't that open, it's boring, and the map system is horrible! You travel between small maps, it’s impossible to know where you’ve been to already vs where you need to discover next. There isn't much else to do besides pursue your leads. The skill tree is pathetic. There isn't any real impact on your skills, so leveling up isn't really there. There's very little loot to scavenge which I guess is a good thing because you have a tiny backpack, it holds hardly anything. WHY? Another poor design choice from the devs. You can't sell your stuff to a trader, you have to barter or trade it. It's really a one-sided system benefiting the trader. The controls are frustratingly asinine! Good tight controls are a must for any game and these are clunky and make you waste time causing you damage. You can't have the flashlight on and carry a weapon, who's freaking stupid idea was that? I overpaid for this and there is nothing about this game that makes me want to continue playing it. What I've learned is that Rebellion is one of my least favorite developers, probably won't be purchasing another one of their games unless it's in a bundle. Not recommended
Finished it in less than 30hrs, it's a short and underwhelming game. You don't get quests, you have an endless list of, well, lists. The world is beautiful, but empty. The characters are caricatures. Atomfall, while largely word-of-mouth advertised as a British Fallout game, is largely British and no Fallout. Seriously, the 'enemies' give you the chance to bugger off rather than engage (politely British!), which means you can run past them easily versus sneak or fight through them. Other games Atomfall DOES feel like are: Dishonored (Jindosh machines), Half-life 2 (post-apocalypse/alien scenery & puzzles), and Bioshock (mysterious and untrustworthy "helpful" NPCS). All that to say this: it's neither new nor tripe, fun nor boring, noteworthy nor forgettable etc. Get it on sale if you want to play it, but this, for me, was a one-play-through-and-done kind of game.
Underrated game. Not perfect but solid. I recommend it to those who like FPS/RPG titles.
Really good! Fallout: Britain essentially, with a big pinch of immersive sim in it, (i.e games like Thief, Dishonored, Prey). Perhaps a pinch of the Metro games too, as ammo is very scarce. Decent story, loads of fun exploration, very few bugs. The only critiques I have are that the enemy AI is a bit basic sometimes, and towards the end of the game there are lots of running back and forth between the levels to explore all your quests.
Atomfall is a beautiful, lovingly crafted homage to 20th century British sci-fi and horror - imagine Quatermass on steroids, with a side-order of The Wicker Man. Combat is satisfying (but dangerous enough to promote circumspection), the characters and storylines are engaging and entertaining, and the environments are absolutely gorgeous. I'm not sure how many of the easter eggs will be appreciated by younger players, but older British gamers should be delighted by the references to everything from Captain Scarlet, to Last Of The Summer Wine. If anything lets it down at all, it's the slightly anti-climactic end sequences, but it does have several to choose from, and the old 'it's not the destination, it's the journey' cliche applies quite well here. I have a history of getting frustrated by and abandoning RPG / survival games, but this one ticked all the right boxes for me. Now that I've kicked the arse right out of it (and the worthwhile DLCs too), I've been left at a bit of a loose end, hoping that a sequel isn't too far off. Guess I'll just have to man-up and go do the chores I've neglected, while running around the imaginal Cumbria of the early 60s. Would definitely recommend.
Environments look great, rusty old guns are awesome, combat is okay. I got around 3/4 through the main campaign and got burnt out, installed like a year later and just felt completely lost. The amount of "leads" that are winding and confusing is just more detective tedium than I care for. I am sure some people absolutely love putting the puzzle together. Im just not up for cryptic puzzling with my first person shooting. I felt like I basically needed to start a new game to have any idea where I was at and how to proceed, but then iv already been there done that and dont want to. The game is designed around multiple playthroughs in mind to see different possibilties but meh. Its not my flavor enough to want to start a new game even with that in mind. One of those games thats better played for a little bit on rent (Its part of gamepass at the moment) But like I said im sure this is right up some peoples alley with all the clue solving nonsense. I think Rebellion did a good job in designing the world, its just not a game I would personally recommend.
I had blast playing this FPS with a British setting. What's not to love about tea and cake and hitting an unsuspecting stranger over the head with a cricket bat
Pfffff.... c'est nul.
