Reviews
Black Flag is still one of the best pirate games ever made. Unfortunately, the PC version has aged like milk. No native ultrawide support. Console-era FPS locks. Basic PC features that should've been patched years ago are still missing. "Just use mods," people say. Yeah... about that. The mods that fix ultrawide support and framerate limitations can completely break the game. Suddenly your inputs stop responding, scripted events refuse to trigger, and progression grinds to a halt. In my case, the very first assassination attempt on Edward never happened, leaving me stuck watching guards stare into space while the game waited for an event that would never fire. So you're left choosing between: Playing a compromised version with black bars and arbitrary FPS limits. Playing a "fixed" version that might not even let you finish the tutorial. It's hard to recommend a game that requires community patches just to feel like a proper PC release, only for those same patches to introduce game-breaking bugs. Black Flag deserves better. The game itself is fantastic. This port isn't.
