This is my personal favorite assassins creed game of all time. yaya i know.. I just think this game is amazing & I love everything about it!
I picked up Assassin's Creed Syndicate with very little idea of what the game was about. I had previously played AC2, Unity, and Origins, and I think Syndicate slots into the same older AC formula as a 'fine' addition to the franchise. There's lots of really nice details, but mostly it's nothing groundbreaking. You play as Jacob and Evie Frye, two twin assassins as they try and reclaim 1868 London from an evil faction. The missions are alright, the level design is alright, mechanics are alright, but nothing from a gameplay perspective really strikes through as excellent. But lets be honest, Assassin's Creed is really just an excuse for digital, historical tourism. And Syndicate has this in droves. From Florence Nightingale and Charles Darwin to Queen Victoria and Alexander Graham Bell, it does a great job of painting Victorian Era London in a video game. I don't think it has the same level of authenticity as other entrants in the series (namely Origins), but it's still a well crafted world. I managed to 100% it in just under 70 hours. I highly recommend if you do attempt to 100% this game to make sure you do all the side objectives in the main story the first time around. It will save you a lot of time. Overall, I give it a 6.5/10. Better than Unity, not as good as AC2 or Origins.
🗡️ Recommended — Assassin's Creed Syndicate An open-world Assassin’s Creed game set in Victorian London, focused on stealth, parkour, gang warfare, and twin protagonists. 💥 Highlights: Beautiful Victorian London setting Play as both Jacob and Evie Frye Fun grappling hook for faster movement Mix of stealth, combat, and gang control ✔️ Pros: Great city atmosphere and soundtrack Evie’s stealth gameplay is excellent Fun traversal with carriages and grappling hook Better pacing than some older AC games ❌ Cons: Combat can feel repetitive Story is decent but not exceptional Side activities become repetitive over time ⭐ Verdict: 👉 Great choice if you enjoy classic Assassin’s Creed gameplay with a stylish historical setting and open-world exploration.
Assassin’s Creed Syndicate has an amazing atmosphere and beautiful visuals that really bring Victorian London to life. The story is a bit flat at times, but still enjoyable overall. Definitely worth playing if you love immersive open-world games.
Even in 2026 there's almost nothing else out there that matches the level of historical immersion and love for world design and architecture that these older AC titles manage to provide. I had played Syndicate base game before and loved it, and now played Jack the Ripper and my opinion has not changed. I absolutely love the older games (pre-RPG) and have a certain charm when it comes to the environments that is irreplaceable. Also I love Evie so much as the protag, far more than Jacob (sorry Jacob fans), and so it was a massive plus point that in Jack the Ripper you play as Evie. Overall my only nitpick would be that the parkour controls felt a slight bit janky at times, and the traversal didn't flow as well as I expected it to. Overall its a solid 8/10, and looks gorgeous even today, hard recommend.
This game was the beginning of the end of the series. The death nail. History is a meaningless backdrop to the story, which is rubbish. There's overt narratives forced onto the player, and nothing is ever addressed directly. While the series often proses hard questions and characters answering them with reasonable meaning, this game feels written at an elementary level, but with the writers' own political leanings forced in. The gameplay is even worse than unity, with a total lack of weapon selection, and a focus on brawling with the occasional gunshot. This is the game where level-locked zones were also introduced, ruining immersion. The worst part is, the titles that were released after this only got worse.
