I want to applaud how immersive this game is, the battles feel rooted in this glorious sci fi universe with so many small details adding up to make an epic experience, like how you always spawn from a spot that makes sense like a drop pod or barracks, or how ships have visible reloading mechanism for when they spawn in almost like your base / ships hangar is some sort gun firing fighters. Want a special vehicle? a dropship physically flies in and delivers you quicker than Amazon Prime. People say the movement is janky, but to me it just feels like you're moving around in some sort of military exosuit, which you are. Speaking of, this game does have a higher TTK, but I don't really mind that because you do have someone of an opportunity to retaliate instead of instantly die when someone gets the drop on you. Might not be everyone's thing, but I like it here. Also, I don't think there's many games that have Space Combat this good. The fighter / bomber / etc gameplay is super fun, then sometimes, the game will offer you Corvettes, Frigates, and even the Main Battleship. being able to walk around them to repair parts of them and access turrets is just so cool. You can launch a dropship from your battleship, board an enemies battleship and destroy it from the inside. The game's not perfect, sure, I'd love improvements on the AI and other aspects, but it has so much spirit and love to make up for it. If you like Sci Fi Combat it's worth checking out.
PRETTY GOOD FOR 10 YR OLD TECH!!
This game is sick. If you are a fan of old Battlefield games than this is the game for you. By the way, it has extensive new and innovative features, some still not seen in current games today. Well worth the asking price. Good job devs. You made a hit game. There is a lot in this game, stick with it and you will learn it over time. Congrats to 1.0 release.
fun
A fantastic sci-fi combined arms shooter with a lot of potential that deserves some more love. Angels Fall First has a very wide sandbox with loadout, weapon, and vehicle customization across two slightly asymmetric factions, and while running on a dated Unreal Engine 3 has a cohesive visual style that is very nostalgic for those who played a lot of 7th gen console shooters. Comparisons to classic Battlefront are well-earned, not just emulating but evolving on the past Instant Action formula, all while providing a pick up and play experience sorely missed in this genre. 32v32 multiplayer and complete bot support for all maps is something that even the modern Battlefront games cannot fully boast, and the difficult grind of the presently-dead Battlefront 2015's variety of weapons and star card abilities is replaced with a freeform loadout point system. Everything in the weapon and vehicle sandbox is available from the start; the only question is if you can make it fit in your limited budget. You will gain more loadout points over time by completing objectives, killing enemies, and supporting your team without needing to grind specific weapons or complete daily challenges. No matter your playstyle, your progression is tied to the gameplay itself rather than arbitrary limitations and jumping through hoops. No matter your loadout, you aren't confined to one 'class' and are free to tailor everything to your liking. There are some criticisms; performance on full 32v32 matches can be sluggish in high traffic areas, and visibility can be an issue both on the ground and in space, especially when your view of a target is blocked by your vehicle in third person. The charm of simple but stilted animations can degrade over time considering how spoiled we've been in the modern day, and how iconic the weighty kinetic heft and movement sway of the contemporary Killzone 2 and 3's weapons remain. These are just small nitpicks in an outstanding overall package, however. I hope this game continues to be developed, and more toys are thrown into the sandbox when time permits. In the future, I would love to see a take on Battlefront 2's Galactic Conquest or Red Orchestra/Rising Storm's Campaign modes, multi-hour territorial wars with vendettas and alliances alike forming over real stakes in each match. There is great mod support potential as well, with Unreal 3 being second only to Source when it comes to pedigree of fan-made content, and it may be what makes this game into an all-time classic for years to come. Very good value for your money especially on sale, and a must-grab for lost fans of the original Battlefront, Battlefield 2142, and all the other games that fell beneath the reign Call of Duty and Halo.
good nostalgic fun to hop in to rip a couple games at a time
Angels Fall First is a futuristic space sci-fi FPS with classic 16v16 King of the Hill style gameplay. You can play as infantry, use vehicles, space ships, and mech suits, all customizable. I have played for 4 hours now after watching/following this game for a long time; Purchased after the 1.0 release. I love playing RTS games with skirmish modes that I would meticulously tweak to set up teams and scenarios. Every game would ultimately end up differently; Sometimes I would come from behind for a last second victory, sometimes I would get an early lead, and about half the time the computer would beat me, leaving me wanting a rematch. I bring this up because Angels Fall First is similar with it's bot support, you can tweak the enemy difficulty to match your preferences exactly. I can set up a single player offline match, enjoy a 20-30 minute match, and take a break. I have found that this is excellent for learning how to play before hopping into an online match as well, since there is a bit of a learning curve here. Of course when I have a bit more time or am feeling ready for a bigger challenge, I get into an online match and lately have found that I can pretty much always get a full 32 player match online. This may change later, but lately I have found no problems playing with real players. Other pros:

TONS of loadouts and playstyles to dig through, or you can just use the default loadouts to a more class-based feel
Lots of vehicles, spaceplanes, and mechsuits to get into, also fully customizable
Progression exists which allows you to equip more and more stuff, keeping you coming back for more
Cons:

Sound design is lacking, guns don't sound great
Graphics are clearly dated, which makes it less cool looking than modern games.
I am probably going to keep playing this for a while since it is so easy for me to jump in, play a satisfying match for 30 minutes or so, then take a break. Dad gamer life. I love the style and customization, and overall feel of the game, and I hope for continued updates from the Devs! Great work guys!
A hidden gem in the realm of FPS games, the bots are incredibly intelligent, and the weapons feel great to use, with a huge arsenal and customization to play with. Would highly recommend.
This game is so clearly a labor of love, and that love shines in every dang pixel and polygon. A game for people who look back fondly on time spent connecting LAN cables, for people who remember Getting Online for the first time, and a game for everyone who game after. a game that actually is, more or less, the game you felt like you were playing when you were running Battlefront games with your friends. "Angels Fall First" is a beautiful thing, and I'm grateful for it.
A refreshingly old school game, with influences from starwars battlefront, battlefield and planetside. Incredible amounts of customisation available, the bots are pretty good and allow for offline singleplayer modes when you fancy a quick game without any faff. Both infantry/vehicle and space combat is available. AND it's only £13.37... Honestly for the price alone you're already getting more of a game than most "AAA" releases going into their first year of updates. If there are any obvious pitfalls with the game, it's overshadowed by the lenient price for what you get.
