Many times have games been in development for far too long just to finally come out and be major let downs. This is not one of those times, this game is very impressive
Angels Fall First for me started as a small Space combat game that scratched every itch I wanted in a space FPS game. I loved the ship interiors and the segmented maps where you can fight in Space and Land, everything something like Battlefront 2 (The real one) initially sparked in my experiences. Been around since 2017!
Angels Fall First is a surprise. The best way to describe this game is by picturing Classic SWBF2, Planetside 2, and Section 8 all in one game. While I have known about it for years, I actually lost track of it until now and I am glad I am able to jump on for 1.0. This is legit just a "good, fun game" that is one of the most ambitious shooters period, and that is not an exaggeration. There have always been games that have PARTS of the ultimate experience, but never the full thing. This game manages to strike the best balance between infantry, ground, air, and space battles while also being VERY PLAYABLE. There is no lag, no desync, none of the issues that plague modern games. Most of that is due to this being an actual old school title and man do I have to say I miss turning on a game that is feature rich and actually works without issue. It is very atmopsheric as well with the VFX and soundscape which makes firefights feel very good. You can also add AI to both single player and multiplayer games which makes the sadly low player count a non-issue. The bots themsleves actually act very similar to real players depending on what skill level they are on. I started out with Skill 20 and they by all means move, shoot, jump, strafe, and plan almost identical to real players. So it is a good thing it is adjustable because I was afraid they would be too much of a push over. Customization is also decent enough with a few options for patterns, armor sets, and colors. It shines a lot more with weapon variety and attachment customization(very much a surprise to me). and Commanding the forces is fun it itself. Ship combat and more on the arcade-y side of things but attacking an outpost/ship, fighting through defense forces, blowing your way inside, and having a hardcore firefight to get to certain parts of the ship is just such a good time. You literally could have as little as one friend on here and have teams of 30 bots and that is already enough. All in All, if you are like me and miss that old school vibe of just turning on the game and shooting up bots with a Galactic Conquest and Instant Action mode, this is the game you have been looking for. FOR WHAT THIS IS, I am giving this a 9/10 for a very well put together, feature rich game that is a bastion of older school early - mid 2000s instant action gaming. For critics and all, I would rate this a 7/10. Regardless its above average for its offerings to price ratio.
Boring game ?!18!? years down the drain. You'll never climb. Play Planetside 2 stupid. Play Ravenfield stupid. Also game runs poorly.
Great game! THIS is what battlefront 3 should have been! Maybe a little janky but that can be excused, considering what it is. If you're on the fence, pick it up!
Not my cup of tea. Dated in a bad way. Enemies bounce around going "boing boing boing" and gleeking acid on you. Yuck!
The game I've been looking for. It's almost perfect. Colors need to be expanded upon and all will be well. Thank you.
played multiple games and all the games had a hacker using a knife and moving so fast you cant even spawn before they 1 hit ko you. it is sad because the game has potental but with very little security. for a game that claims to have massive battles its the same as cod team deathmatch but with worse graphics, controls, anti-cheat and loadouts. its over complicated and there is zero team work. dont waste your money on this game. go play planetside 2 for free.
This game is fantastic, I was a bit worried about the player count but I should not have been. Not only is there always a couple servers that are full or close to full, there is also a wonderful offline mode. With competent AI nonetheless. This game is like if Battlefront 3 actually released but instead of being SW based, it was a more hard scifi setting. Pick it up and give it a shot! I am very glad I did!!
great game cant wait to see what more gets added but id like min match timer to be longer 40 minutes
