My first thought was "This is what VR gaming is all about". I played the Egyptian themed play area, it was amazing how well the graphics were and how large it was. I flew for over an hour and was surprised I never felt sick. The gun controls will take a little time to get used too but the game is so fun I do not mind. This game has a lot of growth potential so I hope the developers add more battle scenarios, themed play areas and gun types.
Experienced on the Oculus Rift with Touch Controllers
I would really like to recommend this game. It's a really good MP game in EA. It has all the makings of a possible great MP game in VR. The movement is fluid. The guns feel good. It's just fun flying around really. The special abilities are pretty cool as well. There's just one big problem. Nobody plays it. That's a fatal flaw for this type of game. The bots are not interesting enough to play singleplayer in MP. I played this on the free weekend on Steam and still nobody was on. How does that happen? I tried on a Friday night and a Saturday afternoon & night. Those should be peak times for a MP game. I was alone playing with bots. So, I'm deciding to not buy the game. That really sucks because I would love to support the devs but this game currently has nothing to offer with a dead playerbase. I can't blame the devs, as they have made a solid game. The problem is the that VR is still not accessible to many and people would rather play Onward for whatever reason (this game is more fun if you want arcade action!). Anyways, I hope the dev focuses on making the bots more interesting so at least playing solo is fun. Then I could change my recommendation. The free to play weekend was an amateur attempt. It wasn't advertised anywhere. There were no scheduled events. You only got one map and only got to try one setup. I did notice tha the grenade launcher / rocket launcher had an issue on reloads not making any sound. I also noticed some frame rate issues at times, but ran smoothly most of the time. I also recommend the dev makes this game free to play permanently with locked content. The locked content being costumes and such (like Overwatch!). Alternatively, lower the price tag to $5 so that hopefully more players are willing to take a risk in buying a MP game with such a small playerbase. Good luck dev! Rate 4.9/10. Shame, it's a really good MP game, but it's basically dead. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1384838684
This game rocks. It's the exact kind of experiece VR was designer for - authentic, exciting and only possible in virtual space. A Jetpack-style FPS, requiring 360 degrees of situational awareness, carefull management of ammo and abilities, and a mastery of the "grappling hook," a unique tool for turbocharged aerial navigation. As an early access title, the gameplay, maps and mechanics are always improving in many small ways. The game dev's can often be found on the server with other players - and they seem very chill - so it's easy for players to learn the secrets of the game, as well as share ideas and suggest changes. Gameplay is fun one-on-one, but it really gets going when the server has 5 or 6 players. The action is frenetic, and the killshots are incoming from every direction - literally. Right now its mostly deathmatch, but team gameplay is available and more game modes are hopefully on the horizon. The only thing missing is more players. I highly reccomend trying this game and learning the joy of aerial combat.
This is one of the reasons that I love VR. Games like this that are so creative that it just blows your mind. Flying around like superman with high tech weapons. I have played against people who are in Arcades and you hear their reactions and they are clearly having a blast playing this game. It's that much fun and very addictive and you quickly loose track of time playing this gem of a game. It's fast paced and the maps are amazing, you just have to experience it for your self you'll love it. The Beta was a little rough around the edges but they have come a long way and are very committed to fixing things that need fixing. I can hardly wait for more guns and maps because the last update was fantastic. It's early access so multiplayer could use more players, until then the Bots will keep you busy.
There's no game play outside of live battles with other humans, so there's no way to learn how the game works. The basic tutorial is nice, but once that's done there's nothing to do unless you like getting killed in a few seconds over and over again. Its fine to have a game that's focused on playing random strangers, but there needs to be bot players you can practice with.
The 6 degrees of freedom is amazing the core gameplay is pretty good This games only real downfall is the player base which from what I saw consists of families in vr arcades So watch out.....if you drag the child, mama bear will have a grudge against you. And little ones always travel in packs.....
Really cool game, except......there is never anyone playing. Great concept, but just playing bots is no fun. Wish other people played this game because it is cool as hell. Please buy this and start playing!
Free weekend. Pretty fun overall. Hard to say what is possible due to the player base. I saw three different players on the quick match. Unfortunately, the rocket launcher is a little overpower and there doesn't appear to be a button/stick command to turn so you have to turn yourself in your play area. Not a game breaker but it would be nice. I won't be buying it right now because minus a large player base, I think the fun is too limited. I will keep an eye on it, however.
No-one plays, prepare to fight bots.
This is a really cool multiplayer game which i thoroughly enjoy, I hope that it develops into a bigger game with more maps but the gameplay can be fast and furious when there are a few good players. Highly recommended
