About
Among the Whispers – Provocation is a first-person single player “Authentic Real-Life Paranormal Investigation Simulator". It's not a game looking to Jump Scare you (although it may happen so don't blink!), instead it's about truly learning about a haunted family and their past.
Operate tools paranormal investigators use in real life to learn about the ghosts that plague this location and what binds them here.
Use provocations to coax the dead in various ways to communicate or manifest. However, beware, trying to provoke a ghost while unprepared can lead to psychological consequences that could make the investigation harder.
So keep your nerves calm!
If you dare, explore this enormous four-story mansion with over 30 rooms to learn about the dark secrets it has been hiding for generations.
Find the clues to slowly piece together the sinful past this family has endured.
Thanks for all the support with my previous work on Conrad Stevenson! I hope this game shows you that I've been hard at work with stronger gameplay, better visuals, and deeper investigations! ~ Kip the dev

I really wanted to love this, I tried really hard. But as of 2026, I have yet to actually play the game beyond just the tutorial; 25hrs of just trying to do the tutorial and get past it - because of all the bugs. I can't be overly specific because there's always something, but it's really unfortuate. Most recently, I booted up and finally finished the tutorial and got to exploring the mansion. Howver, nothing was happening - I got the cues that there were specific pieces of information I needed to collect in the form of items. I looked at guides just to make sure I was looking at the right things; but I wasn't able to pick them up and get the item to register as info required to move forward. Upon restarting the save file, I went to restart the tutorial and I got locked into the laptop email screen. Would not let me back out, no matter what I clicked on in the email, I couldn't back out after selecting "Dining Room". I had to Alt F4 out of the game because I was stuck. There has been more situations like these, that have made me restart the save file and redo the tutorial, enough for me to log 25hrs total but without having actually played the game any further; and it's a shame because I keep trying to come back in hopes of it being playable.
Not even close to Conrad
Ghost investigation simulator in a big haunted mansion. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You are playing as a female investigator by the name of Stephanie and i wont spoil anything about the backstory. This is for you to find out. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- First off, Do exactly what the tutorial says, nothing more than that or you'll be stuck doing it becouse youre missing the point. After that, you can start the fun stuff. Gameloop: Read Email on laptop with starting hints and certain location from the client, or multible if there are more ghosts then just the one. Click those (this adds it to your tablet). Check your tablet and click the names location in the top right corner to see the full floor map and find out how to get there. (there are 3 floors plus an basement and they're all huge). At location open the backpack, grab the emf + temp and walk around the room to get readings. Get the evidence twice for both of them will indicate that its paranormal if you find the right evidence. (interference due to powersockets/other electronics like tv's/laptops etc will have its own effect and doesnt count as evidence) open backpack and put the emf and temp away, trade it in for dots to find out where its roaming spots are. Turn it on and place it at one of them when youre done. (the green dots will turn yellow when its there at that time) grab the camera, turn it on and place it tactically by turning it so that its aiming at one of the dots locations. Grab the Voice recorder and a parabol microphone to enhance the upcoming voices and noices. Start to ask the normal questions, upamp the energy type questions if you only get a moving object for example but nothing else. Use the ghost agitating (leveling up) type questions if you are ready for visual or more personal interactions. (youll hear chiming sounds when its at its max level of agitation) (you'll know when when asking questions/profoking works, when you check your watch and you'll see a certain type of DOT apear on it. Meaning its active untill its gone) Keep uploading the different voices, noices, and images etc to get the evidence on your laptop so you can watch it back or hear it back at the laptop (which is at the main entrance's front door) Tagg the evidences on your tablet with icons so you dont get multible ghosts, mixed up. Watch your WATCH to keep track of your (sanity) FOCUS aswell as your (heartrate) PANIC (you can also turn this off in settings) If it gets to low (20) you wont be able to investigate, if it drops to low you will pass out and respawn at the laptop (main entrance) and lost hours of presious investigation time. When it happens to often or you are either to slow, time has run out and the night investigation time is over (you can also turn this off so youll just respawn without losing anything instead without losing time) Check the laptop at the main entrance hall and find out based on the evidence, who and what type of ghost it might be: Intelligent (responds to you logically) (looks the same as residual) (drains you normally) Residual (mostly stuck, reliving its own personal trauma loop) (looks the same as inteligent) (drains less) shadow (agressively responding and actively reacting) (looks like smoke) (drains actively a lot) Besides these types, i dont know if there are subtypes, but the ghosts can use there behaviour differently every time you play it (randomized in how they do it) Check the Family tree on the laptop and upload the people that you think the spirit might be, how they died, what might be related things that they say or sounds that they make. (the people might be alive on the family tree so you need to look carefully, also each time you enter the mansion, the names will change aswell as the evidences etc, making it more fun). Then you can also read about the object that ties them to that mansion and its location. Find the object and pick it up. Get back to the haunted room and grab the JACOB'S LADDER. Set the correct frequency by changing the voltage on the JACOB'S LADDER acordingly to the ghost type you think it is (you can find it by pressing ESC and go to tools info) Walk around with the JACOB'S LADDER activated untill it starts to spark at the antenna's tips, then put it on the ground. Press F and instead of provoking it, you RELEASE it by talking to the ghost (chosing its: NAME, ITEMS NAME, REASON FOR PASSING) If you got it wrong, it wont work. When youre done the spirit is lifted and you go back to the main entrances door and get out of the mansion. A screen will pop up, this shows the results of your previous investigations in that chapter and adding your new foundings to it. Im at chapter 1 almost at chapter 2 right now and currently am at 11 hours in. During your investigations when you are wandering around, youll find items with blue silhouette's These are items that belong to specific ghosts. You'll also find objects like news papers or notes with purple silhouette's around them, Take a picture of it and UPLOAD IT, will make it so that you can read it on your tablet (press the Hand sign on the tablet) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I love this second game that the devs have released with very few bugs. Both are really nice if youre more into the slower paced history/ghost/background story investigation simulators. (there are but a small hand full of these type of games and there should be more) (This is not a phasmaphobia go go go investigation/survival type of game)
Love the way the game plays! The map is large and the ghosts are fun to hunt.
I don't like Among The Whispers - Provocation because it randomizes the ghost and their deaths and it feels like a choir which is really boring and repetitive and is a downgrade from Conrad Stevenson Paranormal P.I.
Not only does it provide another hauntingly eerie environment to explore, "Among the Whispers: Provocation" is a more active game than "Conrad Stevenson’s Paranormal P.I." and I can only applaud that development. While patience is still a factor, and you might get frustrated when a ghost spouts unintelligible gibberish in your quest to find out who they are, it’s a much faster-paced title that also adds puzzle elements to the gameplay. And while the general setting is the same throughout this game, each night is different thanks to its randomization. Coupled with slowly unlocking more rooms, more tragic deaths and more ghost hobbies, and the historical mystery of the Magnificent Drive mansion to uncover through all kinds of collectible documents, what might otherwise have been a repetitive procedural is elevated into a fun, exciting and mysterious story as well, which will no doubt give even the bravest of ghost hunters some sleepless nights. https://adventuregamehotspot.com/review/4625/among-the-whispers-provocation
I loved CSPPI and was SUPER excited about this game though, like many others it feels like the "pilot" game and not a sequel. Only one location to investigate, the actual investigations themselves are random and incoherent. The stress and timed elements make no positive benefit whatsoever, it purely stands to annoy the player, which is never the right choice. The optimisation of this game is pretty poor too, I have a very high end PC and I get stutters and hitching all over the place, which should not be the case at all with this sort of game. The key binds on PC are really strange and illogical, for example, to exit a menu, sometimes it is tab, sometimes it is esc and others it is a click - You should always be able to use esc to back out of a menu. Despite expecting you to release more than one entity per session, the second spirit ALWAYS takes an age to get to the stage of level 5/chimes to actually be able to release them. I just finished a game (my last!) where I identified the spirit, had the special item ready and spent 20 mins constantly interacting with the ghost, having visual and audio interactions constantly and it never got to level 5. After that I was done, a complete waste of my time. What I did like was that all your inventory was in your bag though, slightly annoying that you can only hold certain devices in certain hands. I also truly appreciate the developer for trying something new and doing more work as I know that they can do great things and it seems from previous comments that much of what's in this game came from their feedback but as we know - You can't please everyone! This of course is just my own opinion and I am sure that many people in fact like the game for what it is and that is great. I just cannot recommend for players who liked the original game but I will definitely keep an eye on the developer for new games and maybe hopefully a Conrad 2 at some point.
A big disappointment. Lots to things to dislike in comparison to the previous game: timed levels, awkward evidence 'uploading' and you get 'stressed' so much you get bumped to the laptop area, for no obvious reason. Shame.
Absolutely fantastic loving it so far! great successor to CSPPI
I love playing this game . It feels like I'm on a real ghost hunt. the only thing i wish that they fix is the Residual ghost. it is taking over an hour or more to find this ghost, so i just end of quiting the game. I have to trouble finding the other two ghost.
