Что делает «Conrad Stevenson’s Paranormal P.I.» Мир «Conrad Stevenson’s Paranormal P.I.»
I have now clocked in 20 hours in this game... and I really want to like it. I want to love this game, but there is just no way. I have installed this game three times since release. Playing it for a few hours and then uninstalling it. The game is very nice, very creepy, and very interesting. But playing it is like pulling teeth. It is so slow paced that you might as well put your favorite binge series on while you play it, cause this will take a long time. The ghosts are very shy, and very temperamental/random. You can run around for a long time trying to get EMF, audio and temp without much happening. And I get that it's trying to go for a more simulator type of experience, but it sort of falls short since there is literally nothing to do while waiting. I decided to play 6 hours of the game with a couple of walkthroughs handy, just to figure out what I was doing wrong, but even with guides telling you exactly what clues to select, what areas to investigate and what to wait for... it is just incredibly slow, to the point where I lose all interest. And as you can see from my hours and my review, it's not from lack of trying either. I have full respect for the many people giving this game a super positive review. You just like the slow grind, and that's completely fair. But for me personally, this ends up making me frustrated and disappointed. Hope my feedback helped some out there.
I love the idea of ghost hunting game without jumpscares and the part where the ghost actually hunts me , but this game is way too slow . Playing for 2 hours and didnt get to see a single manifestation of a ghost ONCE
Sat in a garage for three hours for a photo I never got. This game sucks.
This game is a fantastic paranormal investigation game. I really like the slower pace and the stories for both the ghosts and the locations. It had a good balance of stories between the ghosts, stories connected to the locations, and stories of standalone ghosts with no connections to the map or other ghosts. The jumpscares are well done, few but meaningful, the less is truly more. The wave splashing against the rock wall, a deer running in the forest, random phone calls in the office are all innocent but actually scary. For this game to be perfect it really needs a 6th map with the 4th type of demon and another bunch of ghosts, it felt anticlimactic to only encounter 3 types of demons but not the last type. Overall, this game gave me an entertaining 30 hours of gameplay, and I will give it a solid 8/10.
Realistic ghost hunting with real life pacing. I love this game so much I'm sad I beat it.
3/10 gameplay is sooo slow walls of text on how to play and use each item and i couldn't even start a level without looking it up on the forums. didnt say that anywhere temp gun goes from 60 to 14 degrees all over the place and thats just normal.... nothing Paranormal found every time i wait to check
Conrad Stevenson's Paranormal P.I., developed and published by D&A Studios, takes a notably grounded approach to supernatural themes, presenting ghost hunting not as a spectacle of constant scares but as a slow, investigative process built on observation, patience, and deduction. Instead of chasing adrenaline through scripted horror moments, the game leans into the quieter, more methodical side of paranormal work, creating an experience that feels closer to a simulation than a traditional horror title. The core structure revolves around case-based investigations, each beginning long before the player sets foot in a haunted location. You are tasked with reviewing emails, analyzing reports, and identifying key details that might guide your approach. This preparatory phase is more than flavor—it directly influences how effective you are in the field. Once inside a location, the gameplay shifts into a deliberate routine of monitoring environmental changes, deploying equipment, and carefully interpreting subtle cues. Rather than pointing players toward objectives, the game expects them to draw conclusions independently, turning each case into a process of piecing together fragmented information. What makes the experience distinctive is its commitment to procedural authenticity. Tools such as EMF meters, thermometers, and audio recorders must be used with intent, and results are rarely immediate or obvious. The game avoids clear feedback loops, meaning players often operate in uncertainty, gradually building confidence in their findings as patterns begin to emerge. This design fosters a strong sense of immersion, as progress feels earned through understanding rather than guided prompts. At the same time, it places a significant demand on the player’s attention and willingness to engage with its systems on their own terms. Atmosphere plays a crucial role in maintaining tension throughout this slow-paced structure. The game rarely relies on overt scares, instead building unease through environmental detail and sound design. Subtle noises—footsteps, distant knocks, or faint whispers—carry more weight because of how infrequently they occur, creating moments where silence becomes just as important as sound. This restrained approach to horror can be highly effective, particularly for players who appreciate psychological tension over sudden shocks, though it may feel understated for those expecting a more conventional horror experience. Narratively, each investigation unfolds as a small story, with players uncovering fragments of a spirit’s past and the circumstances surrounding their lingering presence. These elements add emotional context to the gameplay, transforming what could have been a purely mechanical process into something more reflective. The act of identifying and understanding a haunting becomes intertwined with uncovering personal histories, giving the experience a sense of purpose beyond simply collecting evidence. However, the same realism that defines the game can also work against it. The pacing is intentionally slow, often requiring extended periods of observation with little immediate payoff. For some players, this creates a meditative and immersive rhythm; for others, it may feel like unnecessary downtime that disrupts engagement. The lack of strong guidance can also make the early hours particularly challenging, as players are left to interpret systems that are not always clearly explained. Additionally, minor technical issues and somewhat stiff interactions can occasionally break immersion, reminding players of the game’s indie scope. Despite these limitations, the depth of its investigative design gives it a unique appeal. Cases can take significant time to fully resolve, encouraging players to revisit locations, refine their methods, and gradually build expertise. This long-form progression creates a satisfying sense of growth, as early confusion gives way to a more confident and systematic approach. It’s a game that rewards persistence and curiosity, offering a payoff that is more intellectual and atmospheric than action-driven. Ultimately, Conrad Stevenson’s Paranormal P.I. is a niche but thoughtfully constructed experience that prioritizes authenticity and immersion over accessibility. It stands out for its willingness to slow things down and trust the player to engage with its systems, resulting in a style of gameplay that feels both demanding and distinctive. While it may not appeal to those seeking fast-paced horror or clear-cut objectives, it offers a compelling alternative for players interested in methodical investigation and subtle, lingering tension. Rating: 8/10
Hello. I haven't slept with the lights off in days since I started this game. I seem to interpret every minor house noise as a spirit so thanks. Seriously though, great game. It seems that the somewhat more realistic way of gathering evidence, hence straining my ears has made me more jumpy and I think it's a sign of a great game that part of it stays with you after. I'll take a break for a few days so I can lower my twitchiness.
Very fun, Pretty scary at times (I am also just a ♥♥♥♥♥ when it comes to horror), and kind of a slow burn? Sometimes you can be waiting for awhile for stuff to happen and other times stuff won't stop happening, it just depends on the ghost. Overall I would recommend this game, it's funny and relieving at times hearing how calm Conrad is.
