About
Among the Whispers – Provocation is a first-person single player “Authentic Real-Life Paranormal Investigation Simulator". It's not a game looking to Jump Scare you (although it may happen so don't blink!), instead it's about truly learning about a haunted family and their past.
Operate tools paranormal investigators use in real life to learn about the ghosts that plague this location and what binds them here.
Use provocations to coax the dead in various ways to communicate or manifest. However, beware, trying to provoke a ghost while unprepared can lead to psychological consequences that could make the investigation harder.
So keep your nerves calm!
If you dare, explore this enormous four-story mansion with over 30 rooms to learn about the dark secrets it has been hiding for generations.
Find the clues to slowly piece together the sinful past this family has endured.
Thanks for all the support with my previous work on Conrad Stevenson! I hope this game shows you that I've been hard at work with stronger gameplay, better visuals, and deeper investigations! ~ Kip the dev

I only had the chance to play through the tutorial and the first ghost investigation after that, but this game has been loads of fun so far! Great story, voice acting, and cool tools to catch (and release) those ghosts with. I don't get a lot of time to game anymore and this is my first PC game in like 15 years, but I'm enjoying it. I like being able to only have to do one ghost at a time and then exit or leave the game paused to do chores or work and then come back and pick up where I left off. Good job developer! Keep the good games coming!
I really wanted to like this game, because I watched my sister play Conrad Stevenson and it looked good, but I couldn't even get through the dining room tutorial because of bugs. First, the tutorial ghost got stuck in the dining room table and stopped moving or responding to questions and was always visible, so i restarted. Must've just been a fluke right? The next ghost drained my nerve (a game mechanic), but i never regained the ability to do provocations even at 100% nerve. I turned nerve mode off, but that had no effect and the ghost continued to drain my nerve whenever i entered the room. Again this prevented me from completing the mandatory tutorial and moving on to the rest of the game. This should be flagged as early access. the game is not in a playable state yet

The game is a lot of fun once you get into it. The tutorial has a lot of information, and I had a weird glitch that I couldn't move past it. But, the discord community was very helpful and I was able to continue in the game. I enjoy the slower pace, and all the lore. It is very satisfying to release a ghost. There is a LOT to learn, and it is a little confusing at first. If you are lost, I highly recommend the discord, or YouTube videos.
I bought it right at release, and this game had enormous potential. Still has bugs, doesn't get maintenance, and never had any real updates (all "updates" were essentially bug fixes). For that reason, I can't give it a positive review although I enjoyed playing it and believe it's easily the most authentic (tool-wise) paranormal investigation game out there, although it lacks any real story or depth that CSPPI provided.
I love playing this game . It feels like I'm on a real ghost hunt. the only thing i wish that they fix is the Residual ghost. it is taking over an hour or more to find this ghost, so i just end of quiting the game. I have to trouble finding the other two ghost.
Kind of janky and runs weird. Needs better hitboxes and direction; its super confusing. A lot of the controls seem to fight you so you keep messing up item placement. I've 100%'ed the first game. It was rough but also really fun once you knew what you were doing. This? This isn't good and I'm sad cause I want to like it. I can't tell if you're supposed to start with all new ghosts every time or if it's just kind of how it's set up. I had a woman ghost in the Art room and ended up getting knocked out while setting up the camcorder. I was then stuck in the camcorder setup menu and could not put it down so I had to restart. I get the Art room again but this time it was a man. The time limit on it goes a bit too fast in my opinion and I can't tell how well I did at the end of the round.
Challenging start with the tutorial. Graphics are ok. Once you get the hang of it, it's ok to play. 7/10
I really wanted to love this, I tried really hard. But as of 2026, I have yet to actually play the game beyond just the tutorial; 25hrs of just trying to do the tutorial and get past it - because of all the bugs. I can't be overly specific because there's always something, but it's really unfortuate. Most recently, I booted up and finally finished the tutorial and got to exploring the mansion. Howver, nothing was happening - I got the cues that there were specific pieces of information I needed to collect in the form of items. I looked at guides just to make sure I was looking at the right things; but I wasn't able to pick them up and get the item to register as info required to move forward. Upon restarting the save file, I went to restart the tutorial and I got locked into the laptop email screen. Would not let me back out, no matter what I clicked on in the email, I couldn't back out after selecting "Dining Room". I had to Alt F4 out of the game because I was stuck. There has been more situations like these, that have made me restart the save file and redo the tutorial, enough for me to log 25hrs total but without having actually played the game any further; and it's a shame because I keep trying to come back in hopes of it being playable.
Another solid ghost hunting game from this developer. If you enjoyed Conrad Stephen's Paranormal Investigator then you'll likely enjoy this one. While the games are similar, there are enough differences to make this game feel distinct. I definitely recommend turning off timed investigations at first until you are used to the game mechanics, otherwise it can be frustrating to have done all the work and not get to finish the investigation. Happy hunting, investigators!
