This is one of those games that only comes along maybe once every 10 or so years; a really well-polished indie game that has a story that is unlike any other game I've ever played. American Arcadia is one of the best story-based games I've ever played. The imagery and symbolism of being trapped due to corporate greed, capitalism, and "selling out" are all portrayed so perfectly. The game definitely takes a satirical angle at capitalism, and I feel that very much resonates with how our society is today. As for the game itself, performance-wise, the game is beautiful. I adore the art style, animation, and music. The voice-acting is top notch as well. I did occasionally encounter a soft-lock, but that was very easily fixed by reloading from a checkpoint. I didn't encounter any stuttering, lag, or crashes. However, I do have a relatively beefy computer, so your mileage may vary. The game makes A LOT of pop-culture references. Anything from the 1970s and onward is pretty much fair game. Obviously the game leans heavily into "The Truman Show" for story inspiration. However, I feel like this game takes it a step further. Instead of the protagonist being someone that "everyone" in the game's environment knows, our protagonist is simply an average everyday John Smith. In short, this is a fantastic game and I think that everyone should play this game at least once in their life.

I am just the biggest fan of everything this developer makes! Call of the Sea was one of the best, most emotional game I've played, and it was so nice to have a sequel in Call of the Elder Gods. This was a different vibe, for sure. However, I still had a lot of fun playing it! I will be following to see what they create next!
Very short but lovable game. Didn't overstay its welcome and the story is funny and entertaining. AMAZING voice acting as well. Some puzzle will be trial and error but not annoying. Really enjoyed this one.
this was such a fun story that was told in a very interesting and dynamic way! each level brought in new gimmicks to the gameplay that kept it from getting stale throughout. it's a lot of holding the right stick to go right but I knew it was that type of game and wanted that, and ended up liking this much more than I anticipated! another great game from this studio

И к моему удивлению у студии, которая сделала два классических квеста, третья игра — квесто-платформер. С заинтересовавшим меня сюжетом. За что?... Сюжет из смеси "Шоу Трумана" и "Бегущего человека" с яркой графикой и ретро-футуристичным стилем. Хорошие актёры озвучки. И да, Тревор, я тоже теперь ненавижу эту песню. И как я ненавижу за Тревора играть. Управление на клавиатуре не то, чтобы неотзывчатое, хотя рекомендуется играть с контроллера. Но я умираю, спускаясь по лестницам, каждый раз, почему нельзя было начать спускаться по клику? Попасть из вентиля паром получается через раз. Leave me the ♥♥♥♥ alone! Я не могу сказать, что мне не понравилась игра. Сюжет интересный, персонажи интересные, даже некоторые платформенные сцены интересные (например с допросом). Атмосферный уровень с глазами — просто шикарный. Но все уровни платформера хочется поставить на автопрохождение...
The story in this game is fantastic! It was a great game to unwind with that didn't require that much thought. Additionally the entire game is voice acted which is always a win in my book!
this game is really, really fun. the platforming is reminicent of Little Big Planet, and the switching perspectives of the characters are amazing. the humor hits, and the plot twists (don't worry i wont spoil) are well planned and have enough put up ahead of time, but the pre-planning is not too obvious. 10/10.
This game has a brilliant story that is extremely intriguing and captivating. The gameplay is versatile, the pov changes are refreshing and the puzzles are fun to solve. Easily one of my all time favourite games. I can recommend it to everyone. Here is a review from someone i recommended it to from my steam-family (meaning he can't post his own review): honestly, this game is one of those games that i enjoyed so much, if i could erase my memory about a few games so that i can enjoy them again for the first time, this would be one of the games id call up first, such an intriguingly written story, easy but honestly captivating gameplay and fun humor, easily one of my favorite games.
I want to preface this, it feels wrong to give this either a thumbs up or thumbs down. It is a very good tell tale-like thing. I do not think it is work $20 to "watch" it. I got it on sale for $7.99 and I think that is honestly a fair a price. Its well written, has a few call backs you will like if you like dystopian literature, and the visual style is impeccable. The downsides however, it has a terrible problem with pacing. There were many points that i felt like it was just dragging on. I understand that statement is subjective, but this is my review, so, yeah. The price feels ridiculous if the game isn't on sale. Could benefit heavily from some accessibility features. All the way around, I will say, it is very good. If you are going to buy it, wait until it's on sale because you are not going to get much more than a single play through of this game. If you are going to get it when it's on sale, then it is absolutely worth it. A wonderful thought provoking game, with a hyper stylized polish and a weighty attitude.
