Difficulty level
Aeterna Noctis features two game modes. If you are a lover of Metroidvania games, in Aeterna Noctis there is a perfect game mode for you, the Aeterna Mode. However, if extreme challenges and platforming are what you want, you are a Noctis Mode player. But do you know what the differences are between these game modes? We explain it to you.

- Aeterna Mode (A pure Metroidvania experience)
In essence, the game has been completely redesigned to offer you as a player a 100% Metroidvania experience where action and exploration are the protagonists.

- Noctis Mode (Platforms and extreme challenges)
By playing on this mode, you will not only have to explore and recover your powers, but you will also face constant puzzles, platform sections and challenges only recommended for the most demanding players.
What if I started in Noctis mode and the difficulty is too much for me? Or... What if I started in Aeterna mode but want a more challenging experience?
The player can switch between one mode or the other at any time without losing progress and reloading the game at the last save point, allowing the Aeterna Noctis experience to be shaped at your will. However, there are achievements that can only be unlocked on Noctis Mode.

When this game hits it really really hits. When it's jank or unfair... well. Had a blast, but actually did not complete it. I finally decided to call it quits after the whole castle in the sky puzzle stuff, iykyk. For 90% off? I'd buy it in a heartbeat. Don't be afraid to use a guide!
Really amazing. Exploration is great. Bosses are great. Traversal is great. Honestly, it's close to Hollow Knight.
Loading Screen City, even when revisiting places. Once it just failed to load and there was black screen instead. Some of the fonts are impossible to read in 720p and barely readable in 1080p, mostly in the key bindings menu. I got this game from a Fanatical Mystery Bundle.

The best Metroidvania I've ever played—I highly recommend it to everyone. It offers 70 hours of gameplay, excellent graphics, a decent story, and mind-blowing difficulty. It's a game you can play through once, but you won't want to go through that suffering again a second time.
What is main things for platformer? Control and clarity. Both are trash. At first you think "Wow, control is actually ok". Then you get teleport bow. Character move while you trying to target and your aim goes 360 on slight movement of mouse or stick. Good luck to shoot 40 degree in jump (and there are such moments). Wanna hit and dash? You will dash into enemy because for 5 years devs didn't bother to fix movement. Like they didn't bother to fix character stuck (and you need to unplug controller). Now to clarity. I don't know who designed Smithy and that purple cave but please leave your adress - I will send you bill for my ophthalmologist. But it's not all. What makes great design? Tons of trash on front plan so you'll never see character and enemies. I'd be dishonest if I'd say that AN just bad. It has good platforming it can be fun in the beginning - but the more you play the more janky it become. Because, you know, "hardcore". Aeterna Noctis is game which aims high, but can't even stand on two legs firmly. If it was 2015 when metroidvanias was officially dead - I'd say "Take it". Now we have much better and polished metroidvanias so just skip it - not worth your time and money
This game is straight up trash. We are talking here 80% - generic metroidvania, which is fine, and 20% - long insane pixel-perect (its not a figure of speech, its literaly pixel-prefect) Path of Pain platforming counterparts. With clunky, inconsistent controls. But Path of Pain was COMPLETELY optional, there were no content behind it, noeither boss nor items. In here this all mandatory. If you think Silksong was unreasonale and dragged too much at times, this one is at least 10 times worse when it comes to platforming sequences. Any fun you can have from ''normal'' parts of game will be completely diminished after another 3-10 hours trying to beat some nutjob designed jumping puzzle. Bosses mostly are annoying gimmick fights, and when whey are not, they just cover all the screen with damage dealiing trash, so you HAVE to go all facetank mode on them. There are a lot of issues with a lot of stuff here, but it does not matter so much after that platforming torture. Oh yes, you should also know, that developers added easy mod for, like, disabled people and called it NORMAL (Aeterna), while normal became HARD (Noctis). SO not only they are making uninformed people play easy mod, they also have an excuse for everything: "jUsT sWiTcH tO eAsY mOD" Im appaled by such disrespect for player time and intellegece. Dont buy the game unless you want to unironicaly suffer and waste a ton of time like i did.
Метроид с самым сложным платформингом, который я видел! Лайк однозначно!
De esta empresa me gusta hasta la selección de sus becarios. Grandes.
