I got into this game years back after scouring the internet for a spritual successor to Lords of Magic which was my first foray into the 4x genre as a kid. One day when I was thinking that I'd like an up to date version of the old classic with better graphics and the like, I stumbled across a Reddit post suggesting AoW3 and since then I haven't looked back. If you're wanting a turn-based game which retains the same flavour of class and role based nuances then look no further, it takes some getting accustomed to with so many potential interactions, both map and combat wise, that can either benefit you or be to your detriment and swing an instanced battle poised on a knife edge whilst also being a factor needed to be accounted for in terms of the overland aspect of the game. It also scratches my itch for lore-based underpinnings and I still lap up the fantasy elements behind the game along with the campaign storylines even after countless playthroughs which is a testament to how well they were conceived and written.
