After almost 1100 hours the AI still cooks me

Stabil.. Wie ein genussvoller Mix aus Heroes of Might and Magic.. Total War und Civilisation. Top.. Es umschmeichelt mein kaltes Herz mit Wärme und ich kann besser kommen Abends. Allen Singles kann ich es nur empfehlen !

One of those games that ages like Wine.

Excellent game very similar to Heroes of Might and Magic, Spellforce and Warlock: Master of the arcane. It's generally good and engaging if you like the type of game where you have a bunch of heroes leading armies and you like those heroes to stay persistent between campaign missions. Some thing that are not good about it (but it's still very much worth playing!): - Ability bar gets clogged quickly with no way to rearrange or expand it - Game doesn't handle low-end computers well and crashes sometimes - There are no "strategic resources" like you might be used to from other Civ-like games. It makes every town feel "the same" - The game is often not very clear what to expect. Which units does Charm work on? Which ones can be affected by convert? Time limit on missions isn't announced, etc.

If you're into turn based kingdom builders with a lot of customisation, with turn based chess like combat and a lot of unique abilities and interactions... ya you could sink a lot of hours into this one. Has aged quite well.

I tried to like it. I want to like it. It just isn't really worth it and I got it on sale for 90%. I just cannot recommend it.

One of my favorite strategy games. Right up there or better than Rome Total War, Age of Empires, Age of Mythology. 9.5/10. I thoroughly enjoyed AOW2 as well growing up with my dad and brother. And for AOW3 thank goodness it had a bit of a story mode too. Not that I needed an expansive one, but it really helped me learn the nuances of the game (which is why I just couldn't get into AOW4 due to their LACK of any story mode). The only area I felt was missing was what I thought were upcoming DLC's (Shadow Realms, Archons and more) but they never came. But luckily there is a thriving mod community that more than exceeded my expectations for this itch.
