Age of Wonders III

I've been busy the last 8 or so years, so a bit late reviewing this. AoW3 builds on the classic turn based strategy model of AoW1 and 2, but is bigger and better in most respects and has an even better sound track accompanying it. The single player campaigns are detailed, interesting and well balanced. There are also some branching paths for each campaign based on the decisions you make. Overall it's a great game and very stable, with the only criticism being the front end non steam launcher. 9/10

Naja! Daumen zur Seite! Zum Vollpreis bietet es einfach zu wenig. Die 2 Kampagnen sind bald durchgespielt. Die 2 DLCs noch schneller! 95% der erlernbaren Zauber sind für die Tonne. Motivation es ein 2. Mal zu spielen geht gegen Null. Insgesamt langweilig.

After almost 1100 hours the AI still cooks me

A classic in the seminal Age of Wonders series. Age of Wonders has always been, for my money the premier fantasy combat game and 3 is no exception to that legacy. With the most unique race and class combinations of the fantasy series and very good mods, Age of Wonders 3 is still worth playing. The campaign is mostly fine, but you should be aggressive in them. Age of Wonders is a game about fighting and explring, so passive play is not rewarded in this game.

Excellent game very similar to Heroes of Might and Magic, Spellforce and Warlock: Master of the arcane. It's generally good and engaging if you like the type of game where you have a bunch of heroes leading armies and you like those heroes to stay persistent between campaign missions. Some thing that are not good about it (but it's still very much worth playing!): - Ability bar gets clogged quickly with no way to rearrange or expand it - Game doesn't handle low-end computers well and crashes sometimes - There are no "strategic resources" like you might be used to from other Civ-like games. It makes every town feel "the same" - The game is often not very clear what to expect. Which units does Charm work on? Which ones can be affected by convert? Time limit on missions isn't announced, etc.

This is an amazing game once you figure out the nuances. Truly deep and strategic. Crazy fun!!

Best 4k game. Fantasy setting. Comparing to other best 4k games , i would say the AI here is much better than in Civ 5 and Civ 6, so if this critical for you - Choose this game.

Вот Age of Wonders III - именно такая игра. Triumph Studios взяли классическую формулу «Героев» и Master of Magic, добавили 3D-графику (которая выглядит как конфетная фабрика после взрыва в кондитерской) и сказали: «А теперь давайте сделаем так, чтобы люди забывали поесть». Геймплей прост как квантовая физика: строишь города, прокачиваешь героев, воюешь на шестиугольниках. Казалось бы, что может пойти не так? Всё! Особенно когда твой главный маг решает, что огненный шар - отличное средство от комаров... в собственном городе. Интерфейс иногда напоминает квест «найди нужную кнопку среди тысячи одинаковых», но к этому привыкаешь быстрее, чем к мысли, что твои элитные паладины опять проиграли кучке гоблинов с дубинами. Итог: если вам нравится терять счёт времени, спорить с компьютером о правилах дипломатии и объяснять семье, почему ужин снова сгорел - эта игра для вас. Проверено: вызывает стойкую зависимость и хроническое недосыпание.
