Recomendado
One of the better Indie Metroidvanias out there. Honestly It's pretty solid from start to finish. Enjoyed it as much as I did bloodstained. Combat is very good, each weapon feels like its got its use and even weapons like the whip that I thought id never use actually felt good once you learn it. Enemy variety is a massive plus, there are a LOT of enemies, and probably one or two instance of reskined enemies in certain maps, but other than that every biome has its own unique enemies. Great creature design too. Also appreciated the number of bosses. Ive played a couple of metroidvanias before and this one is definitely up there with boss variety. Two or three repeat bosses for story reasons but even then there's a ton of them, hidden and main quest, that you can encounter and fight. Their movesets are all unique too. The platforming requires moderate skill and is honestly one of the easier ones out there, kind of frustrating since it teleports you to the start if you get hit in platforming challenges instead of just dealing damage but TBH they're still easy enough that you wont get stuck on them and will probably fly through 95% of them unless its the hardest ones. Even then the hardest ones where secret treasures are located are easy and if you've played other metroidvanias the platofrming here will be challenging but not Hollownight levels of tear your hair out. Nowhere close even. Biggest cons are the story and direction, both are actually intertwined. The game is very open for a metroidvania, basically, if youve got a way to go there, you can go there, no gating whatsoever. The freedom is great most of the time, But this coupled with the games lack of directions and youll end up getting dialogue out of order. I had dialogue where a certain NPC talks about itself all secretive despite me already being at the end of his quest, just because I got to an earlier area that I missed. And this happens a LOT. And because of this freedom, there is no direction. You just explore and explore until you hit a story beat. You can even sort of get to some of them out of order. Or At least I think I did. The plot is okay, BUT because of its disjointed nature it becomes more muddled than it had to be. Also includes a ton of Jargon that feels like it expected you to have watched the anime beforehand (there is no anime lol). The game also has multiple endings, 10 of them in fact, and you can do all of them in one playthrough, getting some of them feels rewarding, with some being multi stage quests. Story tied to those endings are meh to ok though, but if youve played other metroidvanias its pretty much par for the course with most of them. If you've played bloodstained the plot is probably on that level. Overall the game Itself is definitely one of the better metroidvanias out here in steam .Highly recommended if you enjoy metroidvanias.
Overall I rate this game 6.5/10 Pros: Fully voiced dialogues, music, artstyle and overall worldbuilding were very enjoyable. I also liked a novel approach to the NG+ Cons: Bugs, clunky UI, abysmal storytelling with a good chunk of explanations being reserved for NG+ (which is further exacerbated by weird level design choices that allows you to consume the barely explained story in a wrong order and confuse you even further + a complete lack of a journal), trivial combat difficulty (which might be a plus if you are looking for a more chill metroidvania experience) I liked it, but It's not the kind of game that I would want to replay again.
